Nothing wrong with it, other than the 'scale' is, or seems to be, wrong. Forgetting that, at least, you have not rocked up in a competition judging 'oranges' with a 'lemon'.

while I agree on that helmet being awesome I think you take this contest too seriously first of all make it better... second it is us designing the Helmet, how we would want a helmet to be... .... yeah seems like many people take this too serious... and insult the work of contestants who maybe have not as awesome helmets, but believe it or not but I worked alot on my helmets too about 1 hour each...

if all contests her are like this I dont think I will take part on the next one... the best one will win okay... but there is no reason to put those who haven't done so well down constantly

But, I guess (being citrus)(racing cars) you would be happy if someone rocked up in NASCAR with an F1 car, after all, they are both race cars.

Also, DaiMOn happens to be or have ability in graphic design of helmets if you check out his/her posting history, so the outcome is inevitable. As much as I like those graphics, I don't like that helmet as it's just like most modern designs: just too much going on.

That looks nice. Really does. Also good job on the shapes, it was time well spent. I look at those shapes and immediately see these are no ordinary shapes, they are shapes that have been laboured over with love.

When I wrote "some kind of a joke", I meant joke created on purpose, not by the lack of skill.

But everybody is free to post whatever design he/she likes. But I'm also free to express my dissatisfaction. When I see this kind of competition, I hope people take it serious and at least try their helmets to look like real helmets. If it doesn't success, it's not end of the world. But if someone doesn't even try...

And I don't think naming something a joke is an insult, when it was actually a joke created on purpose. I can't find anything more insulting in my previous post.

Actually, come to think of it, if I were a driver today, I think I'd just get a black helmet and keep it black - maybe one of those cool "matte" black helmets.

Nick Heidfeld also seems to have come to that conclusion.

It's your decision. I think it's possible make a helmet that looks different to other but still like helmet. But I'm not going to criticise your apporach. I've already expressed my opinion. Let's end this talk. I'm not going to spoil anybody's joy. I've just expressed what I like. I don't demand everybody to do only things that I like.
