Does anyone knowremember a season in the history of F1 that had the most wet races in total?
Ive always wanted to know this, and I hope someone can help me find the answer.
Just imagine a season where 90% of all the races was wet, that would be awsome...;)

1995 and 2000 were very wet seasons. Infact, in 1995, in 17 races, there were only 3 weekends which were completely dry. And it rained in 6 races out of 17 in 2000.

It was extremely wet during the start of 1993 too. South Africa, Brazil, Donington, and Imola were all wet (the first four races).

It was also wet later in the year at Japan. Probably one or two other wet ones that yar but they have escaped my mind.

mika911,

I remember the '93 season well. Senna was able to get a jump on the championship due to the wet races in Brazil & Donington. He finished 2nd at the opener in Kyalami that had a deluge of rain right towards the end of the race. The one guy I felt sorry for in that race was Derick Warwick. He was running in the points in the Footwork and then slid off with a lap, or two, to go.

911

PS: Mika, do you have a 911? I have a 1986 Carrera.

IndianChief but those were wet practices and qualifying

95 that I can think of wetness during the race were Spa, Lux, and Suzuka. Imola started out damp I think.

Ross, I did say race weekend, not race day. IIRC, there were more wet races, wasn't France wet at the end? Or was it in 1997?

Thanks for the info. I was wondering, how many races did Schumacher win out of all those wet races that year (since I've only started watching F1 about 3 years ago, so I don't know)?

From Forix (http://www.forix.com)

1 - Brazil - Schumacher - Cloudy, Mild, Dry
2 - Argentina - Hill - Cloudy, Mild, Dry
3 - San Marino - Hill - Overcast, Mild, Wet
4 - Spain - Schumacher - Partially cloudy, Mild, Dry
5 - Monaco - Schumacher - Partially cloudy, Mild, Dry
6 - Canada - Alesi - Overcast, Mild, Dry
7 - France - Schumacher - Cloudy, Mild, Wet
8 - Great Britain - Herbert - Cloudy, Mild, Dry
9 - Germany - Schumacher - Sunny, Hot, Dry
10 - Hungary - Hill - Partially cloudy, Hot, Dry
11 - Belgium - Schumacher - Overcast, Mild, Rain
12 - Italy - Herbert - Cloudy, Mild, Dry

Schumacher won 9 out of 17 races, just like in 2000. Out of these 17 races, 5 were wet and Schumacher won 4 of them.

Damn, thats amazing!
Do you think if all the races that year was dry, would Schumacher have won the championship that year?

I think he would have taken the championship anyway, no matter what the weatherconditions would have been. The Benetton-Renault was unbeatable that year in the hands of Schumacher. On top of that he was twice punched out by Hill.

BTW there was only 1 non-Renault win that year (Alesi - Canada).
