Same problem Imageshack uploader takes multiple files but won't resize multiple files ( I even resized them one by one to no avail)
Anyway, these are at the NSW Hillclimb Championships, King Edward Park, Newcastle, 1956. Caption says 18.8.56, but is that right? De Bord in the Cooper with a 500 was only 2/10ths behind Bruce Walton's FTD in the Walton Special with 8-80 JAP.
De Bord must have been pretty good.
Later that year Bruce bought the car.

From what I can see, you're still not taking any notice of which option you click on to copy and paste.
'hotlink for forums (1)' used to be the go, it will still be something like that. As you can see, you selected thumbnails above, that's what the 'th' is all about.
From my point of view it is always preferable to resize your photos before uploading them. Irfanview makes it really simple and quick to do that.
The Mattara Hillclimb is always held in conjunction with the Mattara Festival, as far as I know. Maybe Trove will confirm the date? The Newcastle Herald is bound to have reported on something about it.

I believe the MG Special is Harry Gapps in the ex. Brabham short wheel base MG TC Special of 1250 cc s/c, the car was entered in the Bathurst 1956 Easter meeting running # 24 as per the Bathurst book.
What is the History of the Harry Gapps TC & where did Brabham become connected with this car as I can find no mention of Brabham having a TC.

I have the date as 18/8/56 (presumably from AMS)
Yes 18th August 1956 is correct and the times were
Bruce Walton 56.56
Steve deBord 56.76
Dale.

First time I have seen a safety fence to keep the spectators near to the track....
It's to stop them falling into the sea I think. Not sure what stops the cars - never had time to look.

I too found the mention of Brabham's name in connection with an MG as being odd, but I note that at Paramatta Park, 14 June 1954, Brabham was entered with an MG in the under 1500cc racing car events and with the Cooper Bristol in the over 1500cc racing car events. What is the History of the Harry Gapps TC & where did Brabham become connected with this car as I can find no mention of Brabham having a TC.

Shortchassis(Tony Ohlmeyer) South Australian car built 1950 for David Harvey who raced and sold it (perhaps)to Jack Brabham who raced it sold to Harry Gapps thence Victorian Jack O'Dea, now and for a long time with Victorian John Gillett
Thanks for the History on this car John, amazing it is still racing 60 odd years after being built.

The programme on the left is when a number of Aussie and International drivers arrived with some serious racing cars.
Denis Gregory''s Gnoo Blas book was published in 2012 and as far as I'm aware been out of publication for a number of years.
Recently I became aware that Sue's Transport Books can supply copies - $50 posted within Australia. (no doubt extra for overseas).

Just sharing the info for those interested. I have nothing to be gained.

The Denis Gregory book on Gnoo Blas is available from the Orange Regional Museum. I bought a copy this morning. There were about half a dozen copies left on the shelf.

How detailed is it Terry?
Are there results for each meeting or is it only an overview?

The book is of 186 pages and a fairly small font so there is a heck of a lot of info in it.
It covers the birth and demise of the circuit, particularly the trouble with Bathurst Council who regarded it as too much competition for their Mt Panorama crcuit.
It covers all the major race in detail and some other races. No details of other minor races.
Some marvelous photos many of which I have not seen before
A great read
