Hello. I didn't see a mention in any topics I read today so I tought it should be noted Brazil lost one of its greatest motorsport figures, Wilson Fittipaldi "The Baron", father of Emerson and Wilsinho, 92 years old, today. It seems he died of respiratory conditions for wich he was being hospitalized for sometime. He was a famous journalist and radio broadcaster in Brazil. Among other men of his time, created "Mil Milhas Brasileiras" based on italian Mille Miglia and also was a big voice for Interlagos track construction.
Just to get things going to Brazil he gave the world Emerson who would become world champion twice and Indycar champion once, F1 constructor and the whole deal. It seems he had the pride to broadcast live the very race when Emerson won 1972 F1 championship with Lotus in Monza, imagine how emotional was that!!
RIP Wilson Fittipaldi you have one of the biggest legacies in motorsport

I found this link. It is in portuguese, for obvious reasons, but still gives an idea of radio coverage in Formula 1 decades ago. Says in the blog it is radio's audio of Wilson over old footage from the 1972's italian Grand Prix! It seems like a fitting tribute for "The Baron"
