Just seen this article on the BBC Sport website. Looks like we Brits are penalised on cost again. Hard to believe that a race ticket for the Britsh GP is over 4 times the cost of Monaco!

"It frustrates me when people compare the cost of a ticket to watch a 90-minute football match or 80-minute rugby match with a ticket for the British Grand Prix.
"For example, a ticket to watch Arsenal play a category 'A' game at The Emirates - one of 38, 90-minute league matches that they will play this season - can cost as much as £126.
"To come to Silverstone on the Sunday of the British Grand Prix - a World Championship event that only takes place once a year in the UK - tickets are available for £145 for a whole day of world-class entertainment, both on and off the track."
I agree with the point he is making here, that a day of F1 racing plus the support series, which only occurs once a year, should cost more than a shorter football match that happens regularly. Sure, technically the British Grand Prix could be competing with the other races, but really when they are scattered across the globe with all the extra costs that entails, it's still a more one-off event than dozens of other matches. However, what this really proves is that those other sporting events are just as overpriced as F1 is. The costs need to come down across the board.
