...not really expecting all trends and pointers from third free to carry over to qualifying. The teams will have to decide wether or not to tune their car towards the wet or not. Symonds says that today, the difference between a wet- and dry set-up, isn't more than around seven tenths, but that will mean a lot of places on the grid, when things are so close.

Hoping for Lotus and Räikkönen to find back to that good feeling with the car again.
Thinking we'll see better results from Williams and McLaren today, both looking much more competitive this weekend.
Ferrari looked less competitive than expected in third free, so it's tempting to air a thought of wet-settings for them.

Let's see......

This whole European friendly thing is ridiculous. Is there that much difference between 6am and 8am? Those 2 hours are vital.

It dries up amazingly fast here. But if it's going to rain tomorrow, it might as well rain in qualifying too.

I don't know why they couldn't bring it forward instead, so that europeans had it live around midnight or one o'clock. Better to stay up late. :)

Hope it stays dry, just so we can see the true pace of the teams over 1 lap.

For most of Europe it was already 7am originally, I don't see the problem with that.

Basically races shud start at 2pm local time.

for instance Suzuka now starts at 3pm but just one hour makes huge difference. if it starts at 2pm, race finishes at 4pm and you can take it easy and hang around the circuit before going home, while those who come from somewhere far can hurry. But recently race finishes at 5pm and suddenly alot less spare time and everyone hurry at once and everything packed.

maybe near-urban locations like Sepang, Melborne and Singapore can still handle it but not kind to spectators anyway.

Let's hope we don't have a repeat of the Aussie Qualifying sess.

Damn you European audience.

Didnt Bernie just say it's a world championship (while talking about the amount of races in europe)? It doesnt look that way.

I used to love the really early races, made you feel a little special and part of the club being one of the devoted to get up and watch at silly o'clock, then F1 had to go all casual on me [dons hipster glasses/]

Early races also had the advantage that you could watch the race live and then a completely different repeat later in the day as none of it resembled what your tired caffeine addled brain remembered.

Also if you have a race at 5-6am you can show it again at 14pm. Those that want to sleep in can than easily do that.

Enough about moving the schedule, the european audience didn't ask for it, or even complain so its all on Bernie.

Q1 starting soon!!!

Gambling on wet race, won't need as many tyres? Or possibly the harder tyre is what they want for the race - the soft goes off too quickly... I think that they know what they're doing...I hope they know what they're doing. I'd hate to think that they were flipping coins to decide :)
