I'll be honest, I've been trying to like Vettel but after today I'm a Mark Webber fan.

How old is that clown?

25.

What's up with Red Bull drivers showing middle fingers in Malaysia, anyway?

Why do they keep hiring Webber and Vettel in the same team. Webber is no good team mate for anybody I think that's pretty clear. Didn't he want Antonio Pizzonia booted from Jauger. He seems like a bully which people fail to recognize.

Vettel is no good team mate either - "remove him!" was an uttering that let you look very deep into Seb's psyche.

Shame that finger won't stop Vettel from winning a 4th WDC.

Should he be reprimanded for it?

The answer is no, no reprimand, disgusting as it was. Problem is, this is going on for very long time unchecked. I am however all for slow phasing it out. Send a letter to team bosses, remain drivers for several races of that rule, and then start penalizing it for bringing the sport in disrepute.

None of this can live up to Coulthards 'Knuckle Shuffle' and 'Bird Flying' at Magny Cours when confronted with an agressive Schumi

Disrepute is controlling the driver's actions, stuffing PR-words into their mouths, obeying sponsor dictated team orders and having a team representative stick that recorder into their faces every time they say or do something.

Let them race and be human beings. Fake propaganda is disgusting.

No, and here's why.

Murray Walker: "I'm going for first, says Mark Webber."

Made me proper LOL :rotfl:

I loved how low, almost subtle and controlled it was. Usually there's wild arm waving and the finger is jiggling around in the airstream, but this was tucked in nice and tight, very steady all the way down the straight. Right in the eyeline too, Mark wanted to keep an eye on his masterpiece.

Top stuff.

Have you guys seen Webber cutting off Vettel after the checkered flag?
I think it wasn't broadcasted on the main feed.

I agree.

Vettel showed today that he is a selfesh little prick.

Mark showed today - again - that he is a hypocritical drama queen. Now that is truly tiresome. He could have shown the decorum and maturity of Nico Rosberg, but no - he had to throw a tantrum and fill the podium with trauma. And that after he'd done the very thing he was angry about in Silverstone 11 and Brazil 2012.

But the middle finger is not indicative of that - that was just funny.

yeah, real difference between MW losing a well earned win to the Lewham/Rosberg situation

maybe Vettel could have shown the decorum and maturity of Nico Rosberg, and actually followed team orders...and then not lied in the interviews with his "truth" of not doing it deliberately - that made me laugh

He didn't earn the win - Sebastian did after a good and fair battle.

Mark wanted to be handed a win. At most, he lost a "well handed" win.

Maybe. There was no accusation from Mark that he was lying though. So I am not sure how you determined that.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! How was it a fair battle when one turned his engine down!!!!

Read his comments - he contradicts himself and the team say he heard the call...he kept saying he wanted to tell the truth - he didn't.

I like Seb, but he was a little pr!ck on this occasion - but that's why he's a multiple WDC.

According to the rules of the sport then yes, he definitely should be fined. Not my opinion just the rules.

A fair win? Not quite, team sport is a team sport, you dont like it you leave rather than ignoring them. There is no doubt in my mind that Webber, like Hamilton, was actually slower. The whole thing is a cluster and all starts with the crappy tyres.

I did. He said he deliberately battled for the lead. That he knew the team rule and ignored it and passed Mark, but he didn't ignore it deliberately. I do see how that can be interpreted as a contradiction.

I will help with the other interpretation: He knew the rule, but did not realize it was in play.

Whether he is lying or not I do not know, but it is not a definite contradiction based on your singular interpretation.

I like Seb, but he was a little pr!ck on this occasion - but that's why he's a multiple WDC.

Well as to this, we would have to agree to disagree.

Bourbon you are completely delusional if you think that was a fair win. Good god, I mean, really????

I think we have previously established that you believe me to be delusional. Not sure why you are acting all surprised about it now... :p

And yes, it was absolutely a fair win. Just like Silverstone 11 was a fair go on Mark's part.

Ahhh, the modern finicky F1 fan. Thank god you lot weren't around when Senna, Prost, Mansell and Piquet were team mates to each other.

Webber and Vettel are great team mates in comparison.

It's awesome that you guys think this is worth a thread, but the incident and outcome are being discussed in many other places right now, and you can enhance the discussion there with comment on whether there should be a reprimand.

Closed.
