Unrestored and original is best, isn't it?

I'm no Velo expert but this '39 KTT seems to be entirely original and unrestored. You can't buy patina - well you can, but you know what I mean.

Definitely agree with the title of this thread; so many older things, furniture, cars, bikes, are over restored and spoiled. Some older ladies are spoiled and over restore themselves, but that's another story!

Always had a love for big singles, hot and throbbing between your legs, like a Velo or Gold Star; there I am dreaming again.

You are awful, but I like you. Watched a little vid the other day of Cowie and Hailwood at Mallory, I suspect you were there on the day?

Most definitely, but tell me more about this video. I've been waiting for years for a friend to transfer his VHS recording onto a CD of the TV program he recorded then, but it doesn't look like I'll ever see it.

Cowie almost didn't make to the start line that day. A friend and customer of ours insisted on taking John's bike to Mallory, but he had a puncture on the M1 and he had no spare wheel! When he eventually arrived at the circuit, the paddock was close to traffic, as the circuit had to be closed for vans to cross to the center. Fortunately the powers that were saw sense and let him cross.

Unfortunately, it's not the sharpest image you'll ever see:

Thanks for that; that tape had definitely suffered with old age. I think there were another couple of F1 meetings televised that year; would love to see them if anyone ever comes across them.
