Hi,
Can anyone help please with my project, I would like to know who A. Oakes Richards was/is? I see him as a race entry at Great Auclum in 1951.

From some digging on Ancestry and 192.com, his first name appears to be Alfred. Was living in Birmingham in 1949, married in Stratford 1952. Various addresses in the Midlands thereafter: moved to Cornwall in the mid-70s. Probably died about 2005.

The December 1997 issue of Thoroughbred & Classic Car might be worth checking too: that apparently contains an article called "The TVRs of Anthony[?] Oakes-Richards: TVR's first distributor".

I wonder if he is the same person who started up the TVR car club? I have emailed them to find out.
