Usual Martinsville bumping and banging.

I was highly dubious on Danica here, but despite the early spin I think she's doing a pretty good job.

JGR boys sitting pretty right now

Not really Andrew, maybe I'm just not into it today. I'm recording the Indy race and I'm having a hard time not jumping over to that one. I normally love short tracks, not sure what the deal is today.

I really like how Ryan Newman deems blocking a chicken way of driving, but stopping on track to garner a caution, which he has done multiple times before, if perfectly alright.

Thanks guys, normally I'm all jazzed up for Martinsville but I seem to have run out of shits to give for anything but IndyCar this weekend. Still time left for stuff to happen though.

Well he's 4 laps down after being penalised. I'm surprised by Patrick in this race, 17th right now and holding her own.

Why doesn't Keselowski have the big front grill sticker?

It flew off after he nailed Kenseth in the middle of the race.

Fords don't have stickers, they are a real grille. Stenhouse (I think) lost his earlier in the race through bumping & banging, maybe Brad lost his the same way?

12th on her first try at Martinsville, not bad. Perhaps Danica is cut out for Sprint Cup after all.

Hold your horses, back of the grid to 12th isn't that impressive...

A lot of people needed those results today.

Well done Gordon, Jamie Mac, Ambrose, Danica.

I don't get why Harvick was so mad at Vickers, at least not from what was shown.

The 'Marcos return to Australia in 2014' Meter tilts a small bit back to the NASCAR side.

If it's a real grill why is there a big flat panel behind it :p

I'm actually looking forward to Texas a bit. New, lighter car with higher speeds during the cool temperatures of the nighttime.

Edit: And Germain Racing and Casey Mears put up another top 20 today and is 17th in points. That's 4 top 20s out of 6 races, I believe. Even though they'll likely fall back once we hit the 1.5+ milers week-by-week, it's still pretty good for a low budget team that was S&Ping a 2nd car to keep Papis on the track a couple of years ago.

Martinsville script exactly as predicted.....Johnson sets personal laps led standard, Gordon looks good for a win but circumstances late keep him from closing it out. It was actually a bit closer all race at the front than might be expected, but I suspect JJ was doing no more than he needed throughout the day.

One more time tested guarantee...when the TV heads go on about life changes for a driver they'll revert to old ways short thereafter. I.e. Harvick and fatherhood today...:D

I'm surprised that NW doesn't run Martinsville.

It's been tried before a few times, most recently about 5 years or so back (maybe longer. Memory is fuzzy). For whatever reason, the series doesn't draw there. So NASCAR and the track are content with the way it is.

Today's race was just ok by Martinsville standards, although a so-so race there is better than most. The tires shredding rubber the way there were really prevented the top lane from ever coming in. If you weren't on the bottom, you had zero chance to advance. Hopefully they change the rubber combination for the Fall race because when you can run up there some, things really get exciting.

McMurray is 13th in points and JPM is 30th. I hope Juan enjoys Grand-Am next year.

The penultimate restart was just like last years: JJ, Gordon and Bowyer.

Its not a coincidence, they are the best drivers there.

ESPN: "We go live to Martinsville to speak with a man in a white v-neck who claims The Ghost Of Dale Earnhardt actually spoke to him. What did he say, Billy Bob?"

Billy Bob: "He kept telling me of the dangers of Diabetes. Then he asked me why nachos con queso had become so expensive at concession stands. It's just corn chips and cheese..."

Hey, guess what? Kurt Busch did NOT activate a fire extinguisher and there is no fire extinguishing equipment under the hood of a NASCAR.

So what happened? Watch this.

That's the premier Dale Earnhardt impersonator in Henry County. He's available for weddings, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs.
