Any other drivers from the 90's/00's have kids coming up through the ranks?

Crazy how quick times flies. I remember Hakkinen being presented with a McLaren buggy with spoilers and decals on when Hugo was born. Just read that he is pretty quick in a GoKart, so we may see the Hakkinen name return to F1 one day.

Max Verstappen in rapid. Josh Hill is OK. Alesi's son races as does Barrichello's son. Others to

Matt Brabham, Sam Brabham, Aurelien Panis, Johnny Cecotto Jr, Louis Delétraz, George Blundell...
George Blundell just has a coincidental surname.

yeah..i also remember Montoya saying he won't mind his son racing as long as the kid is realistic about it(not everybody get the opportunity to win WDC) and enjoy it...I remember when he was born - this makes me feel old.
i also remember pregnant Erja watching the race in Macca garage on regular basis...
P.S:thread title should better be changed to give more perspective instead of just Mika's son..

One of the Jnr Blomqvists were pretty handy in single seaters, although Stig wasn't strictly speaking an F1 name.

Kevin Magnussen in Formula Renault 3.5, Adrien Tambay in DTM, Conor Daly in GP3/Indy, Carlos Sainz Jr (not F1, but hey) in GP3, and Lucas Auer (Gerhard Berger's nephew) in European F3 are some more names that readily spring to mind.
His old man was a smoking chimney pot, probably didnt help his performance in F1 he was useless at Stewart and Mclaren.

Mick Schumacher has done some karting, dunno if he will even move to single seaters, maybe he's just doing it for the fun of it.
Races under the name of Mick Betsch, he has had some good results.. he is still only 13.

Josh Hill isn't exactly setting the world on fire atm. He was so-so in the TRS series.
Like father like son then?

Apparently, Schumi Sr. does everything to hide his son's face

Good point! I think Damon always said that he found it difficult to show his talent as long as the cars he drove had more grip than power.

Well if he keeps doing well he's going to have to 'reveal' himself at some point! He's on the works Tony Kart team in KF3 right now.

He did one race at McLaren as a substitute for Hakkinen (who was suffering with appendicitis). He came tenth, only one place behind Blundell in the same car. That's far from useless. Although he didn't set the world on fire at Stewart, it has to be said. It's sad because he had so much natural talent that he blazed through the junior formulae with ease. With a bit more dedication, he could have achieved a lot.His old man was a smoking chimney pot, probably didnt help his performance in F1 he was useless at Stewart and Mclaren.

And as always there are lots of thing behind the story which might explain the performance ... or the lack of it. F1 can be very cruel and make a driver look **** rather than being ****.

I would say Max Verstappen, just won the KZ1 championship as the youngest driver ever to do that. Furthermore he has won five titles in this season as on top of the two titles of WSK Euro Series KZ1 and WSK Master Series KZ2 Max Verstappen secured also the titles of KF European Championship, KZ1 European Championship and the KZ World Championship. The last title of the season is still to be awarded: the KF World Championship in Bahrain next November 23rd, he won the first race in the KF World Championship.

Jolyon Palmer is proving pretty handy in GP2, he's very good at overtaking, but he needs to be cos his qualifying is a bit poor

Mick Betsch (nee Schumacher)
Son of Michael Schumacher. He uses his mother's surname before she got married to Michael.

He will have taught his son what not to do then.

I'd have thought so. It was kind of baffling at the time because he was being portrayed as the next big thing. I don't think his results really represent the potential that he had.

Damon Hill's son may come into F1 some day. Forgotten his name. Bernie has already given his blessing for the next Son of a Hill in F1. If they are good they should get their chance someday
Joshua Hill has retired from Racing this mid-season. He does music now.

For sure Kevin Magnussen will be the next F1 son, and rightly so. His dad's lack of success was much more down to circumstance, and maybe lack of 'application' than lack of talent.

You'd use another name if your parents appeared like this!
