Hello to all.

I'm new to this forum, but a long term lurker. As this season seems to be shaping up to be quite interesting, and next year is a whole new game altogether, I thought it was about time I joined the debates. My favourite drivers are: Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Nico Rosberg - but I also have a bit of a soft spot for Hulkenberg, Sutil, and Bianchi.

Anyway, to the nitty gritty. I work as a teaching assistant at a high school, as part of this I'm in a class of especially vulnerable children in woodwork. Helping to teaching them ways to expres themselves, and enhance their skills. I think the best way to reach them is to lead by example so during this lesson I've been making working on making a copy of Senna's 1988 winning Mclaren for my little brother's birthday present. Below are the results as it has progressed.

I thought some of you might appreciate it, it's intended as a toy hence why it's not overly detailed or complex by any stretch of the imagination - but I'm quite proud of it, especially in light of my disability.

I look forward to joining you all in Formula One related chats, and hopefully making some friends around these boards.

If i did I think I would've jumped ship to Mercedes at the start of the year, as they've got my two favourite drivers, and my favourite team principal. I have supported them for the past tenish years, but I now find the team without a driver I support. Respect to both Button and Perez, they're both very good I just don't particularly enjoy watching them race.

Unless that was a joke that went straight over my head, in which case... Yes, yes I do.

Like the model. Wish I could do something like that. My two year old loves planes, cars and trains!

I'll happily have a bash at making him one if you want? Just PM me with details of what you want.

100% a joke, think I share a similar view to you but have jumped ship to Merc, tend to follow drivers more than teams.

Looks great, will there be any aero updates to come as the season progresses? :)
Glad you resisted the urge to add a stepped nose and a set of Pirellis!

Welcome to the board, AD2B. I think your little brother is going to like his present!

If you don't mind me asking, what is your disability? Just curious. If it's too personal, of course you don't need to answer.

hi AD2B, a warm welcome to the community of this forum.

PS: really like your model, would be cool if you could make the whole field from back then (Arrows, Tyrrell, Ligier, etc....) :)

Actually made me laugh! Well done Sir. I think if I stuck an eraser on each wheel it would be about as durable as this years Perellis!

I don't mind at all. I suffer from a fairly sever form of dyspraxia, which in non technical terms means my fine motor skills are similar to that of a child's. I try not to use it an exceuse, the only reason I mentioned it here was that I was proud of how well it had come out and I know how I struggled with it.

Now that would be an awesome idea!
