Which racing events are you going to/have been to in 2013

For me, the biggest of the year will be the DTM weekend at the Norisring.
International events in the UK - aiming to get to Silverstone for the Blancpain Endurance Series, MotoGP and SBK race days as well as free practice day for the British F1 (free roving grandstands, test-drivers, plenty of track time [unless it rains!] and a quarter of the price of a good raceday ticket). Santa Pod for the FIA Euro Drag Racing Main Event in May and Finals in September. Already been to the Silverstone WEC weekend
National Events - BTCC at Donington, Croft, Oulton Park, Rockingham and Silverstone, the British GT at Oulton and Donington, BARC Truck racing at Donington, British Superbikes at Oulton *2 and Cadwell Park, Historic events at Donington, Oulton Park (Gold Cup) and Silverstone Classic, Formula Ford Festival at Brands, RallyCross GP at Croft and this weekend the first round of the BRDC F4 at Silverstone.
Anyone else?

I like Ferrari, but have always supported Kimi first.
I blame football hooliganism for my fear of sporting events where a strong affiliation is present.

Even though some discussion here do remind of football discussion, motorsport fans don't tend to be like that ;)

Grand-Am at Road Atlanta
Want to go to:
ALMS at Road America
Moto GP at Indy
Petit Le Mans

Will likely only get to go to one of them, though.

18/19 May Pau GP (booked the flights before British F3 cancelled this round along with most of its season, so it's now a FR2.0 event sadly)
2 June Blancpain Endurance Silverstone
10/11 August British GT / British F3 Brands Hatch (GP)
12/13 October BTCC Brands Hatch (GP) (maybe)
I've been to the Norisring DTM round in the past (whichever year it was when Jamie Green won in a year-old Merc, passing Scheider's Audi with two laps to go). Stood on the top level of the Steintribune, more or less where the Führer would have stood, and had an excellent view of the main straight, pit lane, Gründig hairpin and the entry to S-Kurve. Great atmosphere.

Austin.. Maybe Monza and Singapore.. Brazil, it all depends .
I've only experienced F1 in Montreal.
I certainly hope you get to Austin!!
I went to Austin in 2012 and have everything booked for 2013! I've never been to another F1 circuit: but had such an incredible time last year that I'm going again. Sat at T2 last year and doing GA this year. They also shut down several blocks downtown and had an outdoor party on Friday and Saturday.
If anyone is into photography and F1: I would recommend going to Austin. The land is built up around the circuit and there are several locations where you can photograph without fence interference. From what I understand, this isn't the case at several other circuits on the F1 calendar.

Montreal . It is a great track for unobstructed photography as well. I would love to get to Austin this year, it is a proper race track and wonderful city.

Hopefully going to Wales Rally GP as well. Hoped to go for the last two years, but third time lucky. Last chance to see it too.

I'm no longer visiting F1 races; the prize of a ticket compared to the amount of track action you get to see is, to me, completely unreasonable.

Been to: Grand Prix of Alabama
Going to: Indy 500
Petit Le Mans.

British Superbikes at Brands Hatch is on my list. Was going to try and attend the Goodwood Festival, but my lil brother decided he'd get married that day in a different part of the country. No plans for anything else. I live about 10 mins from Foxhill so I'll probably go down and see the motocross too.

So far not including incidental costs and travel expenses (which aren't much anyway, basically a tenner to my mate for petrol and whatever I spend on food and drink... so far that's about £40

I've got a lot of motorsport to go through before even coming near Silverstone 2012 prices, and that's great!

Is your spouse attending the race with you?
Yup, it'll be her first F1 live race. In fact, it might be her first time watching a whole race...

However going to Donington Historic this weekend mainly to see the Group C's
and tickets booked for Blancpain Endurance at Silverstone
considering DTM at Brands again, but was a bit of a procession last year
Will probably go to Rockingham, Snetterton and the end of year race at Brands for BTCC, my nephew is mad keen on the tintops... they're a good day out but the driving standards are starting to grate on me recently!

This weekend it's back to Donington for the Historic Festival and then it's a mix of events around the UK - British Superbikes, MotoGP, World Superbikes, Silverstone Classic, Blancpain Endurance Series, British GT, Britcar, BTCC, GT Cup, HSCC, Masters Racing Series, HRDC, Oulton Park Gold Cup, Euro Racecar at Brands Hatch and so on. Looking like a good year hopefully!

Going to the Monaco GP. Just Thursday to Saturday though. Will be home in time to watch the race on tv! Tickets for Sunday were just too expensive and from previous experience at GPs, it's easier to follow the race on tv. I'll get a nice bit of GP2, Porches, Renault 3.5 and F1 practice and qualy in though, and can soak up the atmosphere.
I'm doing the opposite. Just there for the race near the swimming pool.

I have been lucky to be awarded a ticket to the Silverstone GP through work. I have no clue where I will be sitting and how to prepare myself. It will be my first race and I don't want to bring my iPad and stare down at it to keep up with the race. Am I better off listening to the BBC commentary through one ear while enjoying the orchestra of roaring V8s?
Any killer 3-5 tips anyone can give me?
Cool, are you just there for race day? if so starting your day off well by avoiding the hideous traffic at Silverstone would be a good plan... other than that just pray for dry weather! From my experience you won't make any friends with a brolly up at Silverstone, I've never been able to hear enough on the radio while the cars are running so your phone for live timing would be good, the pa system at Silverstone like everywhere else in the UK is pathetic...

I will probably just be there for the race day. The weather will obviously be a critical variable in how enjoyable the race will be. Hopefully the journey there and back to London won't be a nightmare.

Planning to go to FIA GT/Masters of F3 at Zandvoort. Probably will slot in something at Assen too since it is just 30 KM's from home. Hopefully also finally WRC Germany this year.
