Don't see him at Ferrari - he's already had a stint at Maranello and i doubt he'd want any position lower than Technical Director (and Pat Fry is quite secure in his position IMO).

Yea, I'm not quite sure where he'd fit in at Ferrari at the moment. They've just gone through a technical reorganization and I would imagine they're fairly happy with the coming results of it.Surely on his way to Mclaren.

Mclaren does seem a more obvious bet.

Seems fair, but I wouldv taken him in Mercedes style anyway. Allison commands a lot of respect what he does with about half the budget of Ferrari.

I dont know specifically how great Allison is, but the main thing is "where does he fit in?". At Mercedes, all the important positions have been filled.Seems fair, but I wouldv taken him in Mercedes style anyway. Allison commands a lot of respect what he does with about half the budget of Ferrari.
Mclaren are the one top team that has holes to plug in Allison's area of expertise.

Probably heading to Mercedes
Mercedes plan to win the WDC and WCC is to simply buy up all the personnel out there from other teams.

Man if this is true it's a big blow to Lotus, they are looking strong and likely title contender or challenger to Red Bull.
Could Lotus not guarantee Allison everything he wanted ??

Well, Lotus doesn't even have a title sponsor yet...

Scarbs is a Man Utd fan I believe, so that might be in relation to that.

Allison to replace Sir Alex Ferguson? He can help Van Persie improve his diving technique.

Sources tell me Allison will not go to Red Bull. I understand he has an offer from McLaren, but that Ferrari is his most likely destination

If so Allison can contribute work towards end of the season to 2014 car.
Such a shame, i wonder what Kimi must be thinking. If Lotus couldn't keep Allison than do they expect to keep Kimi so easily.

There was time when Mercedes lost some people as well. Movement of resources is commonplace, and not exclusive to Mercedes.Even though Mercedes is offering jobs to every person in the paddock i still doubt he is going there. Most likely Mclaren have sorted a deal when Lowe departs at the end of the season or Ferrari.

You cannot doubt the number of people they have poached from other teams is high, especially with regard to multiple tech directors. Considering Mercedes GP have only existed since 2010 saying there was a time doesn't really hold well.
The article seems to leave it down to Ferrari, McLaren seem to be denying it and seem happy with Tim Goss as a replacement for Lowe.

Ferrari is probably the most plausible one and McLaren next. Newey is also getting old and Allison could be his successor. But I doubt it.
It has to be one of the top teams though, Williams has no funds to compete for him and Lotus has stated earlier the season that they will not pay crazy amounts of money for their employees.
1. Ferrari
2. McLaren
3. RedBull
4. Mercedes

I wouldn't exactly call Pat Fry a technical director at Ferrari. He seems to operate more as a deputy team principle than anything else with a makeshift title of 'chassis' director.Yea, I'm not quite sure where he'd fit in at Ferrari at the moment. They've just gone through a technical reorganization and I would imagine they're fairly happy with the coming results of it.

I think Allison could fit quite well with Tombazis in the aero department.
Anyway, it's a big loss for Lotus.

I think benefit of reorganization at Brackley remains to be discovered, because whatever promising start we see this year, those are 2012 efforts IMO. It's too soon to judge them, and I am convinced that it is only temp situation anyway. I actually do expect some people to leave before Dec 31 this year. With Lowe on board, Allison's presence would be of course redundant, and eyebrow rising across the globe (read, seeing as incompetence by Wolff and Lauda). You cannot doubt the number of people they have poached from other teams is high, especially with regard to multiple tech directors. Considering Mercedes GP have only existed since 2010 saying there was a time doesn't really hold well.
