I recently aquired a copy of this game. It looks great with one exception.I cant see any braking markers. Found it impossible to do a clean lap without them. Any of you F1 fans play this game? If you do how have you overcome this shortcoming?

While I have not played this game as of yet, I have it on reserve and would appericate any info about it anyone has. Everyone raves about GP 2, but just from looks, it would appear as if it is as nice.

I got a copy of this game last week and i'm very dissapointed. Hey how many games can have the official FIA logo on it?, i know of 3.
Anyway the game itself is shocking, the AI of other cars makes the game ALLMOST unplayable, If your not in first place your going to have a hard time passing other cars and getting to first, cos most of them just move over on you and punt you off.
No Braking markers.
The fact that if you watch your dashboard telemetry it seems to take over 8 seconds to go from 0 to 100.
And finally why bother with brakes???, If you just lift off the accelerator the car will happily go around any corner!!!.
Ohh well back to my Ubisoft F1 simulator i guess...
Pac.

I read a review of that game at Gamecenter.com. They said about the only good thing in the game was the fact it had the official licence. It looks quite pretty in terms of graphics but the driving model and opponent AI were both below par. So, I'm going to wait for GP3 thank you very much.

More about the game. I read this in a Game magizene, and this is basically what they have to say (not WORD for WORD, but in a nutshell so don't quote me
).
Pros:
Great graphics on the cars and tracks.
Offically liscensed.
Good camera angles.
Informative readouts.
Modest requirments.
Cons:
Way too easy. One person said they never tried an F1 game in thier life and within 45 minutes, had it mastered.
Unrealistic braking and accerlating.
Unrealistic car performance (is that the same thing as above).

I just picked up the EIDOS official formula one for your pc and found the game pretty good, I noticed a lot of people dont see it that way, I am useing a saitek r-4 wheel and peddles with a very good graphic card in my computer and this game runs so smooth compared to others...even with 22 cars on the track, If you setup your car properly you can have some pretty good races. I dont seem to need brake markers as I have found a real good feel for the brakes on my current setup. I also like the real sound of the engines and wind turbulance, I currently have most decent sims for racing except nascar...not into it at all...I have had official formula one for about a week now and like it very much. The brakes work great on my computer, one light touch and the car begins to slow very acurately or if you hammer them down, Good slides and with mine you better use your brakes properly or you will fly off big time. I have found that if you dont set up your car right its very tough to get better that a fourth place on the austria track, Is everyone racing this game on expert setting?? Maybe its your set ups or maybe its just me but I really enjoy this game.
