These tyres are like FIFA concluding more goals would be better for football and deciding a huge net an no goalkeepers would be the answer yet all that happens is people shoot from the half way line. I'm glad some of the best games can end 1-0.

I fell in love with F1 around the Bridgestone era and feel quite numb about what I'm seeing at the moment, at times in the past my heart has been in overdrive and I've been on my feet clapping and cheering overtakes, I'm just not getting that anymore, it just doesn't seem real.

On the piper and rat analogy, piper bernie/Pirelli? Rats fans who like manufactured excitement? It works both ways, not too clever pal.

Well they did introduce things like golden goal and 3 points for a win to make teams try and attack more and go for the win.

The difference is those rules weren't fundamental or dramatic changes to the sport, subtle and evolutionary changes unlike the radical tyre changes year on year.

Let's not get carried away now, please. Pirelli is taking corrective steps -- and they are attempting to do as has been asked of them in the general picture. It took teams a little time last year as well to get on top of the tires -- and it will be thus this year as well.

After all, last years top teams have been on top of the things this year as well -- it is not like a revolution has taken place this season.

I'm not getting carried away, the tyres this year are a different size, use a different interior, different compounds and the bonding process has had to change as a result. Apart from the badge on the side they are close to a totally new tyre hence the redesign coming for Canada going back closer to the 2012 tyre.

Kimi proves you CAN go around at 60% and pick up excellent points, so that IS a viable strategy. Its not the strategy most people want to see though. THAT is the problem.

Did Kimi (or lotus) state this himself anywhere that he was 60% all race or is this just a perception because of how boring he is?

Anyway like others stated Ferrari didn't do this, went aggresive and won, lotus and RB got it wrong this race strategywise but people were way more upset after this race than any other. Wich makes no sense then, if people wanted to see this pushing strategy why are they all extra angry? they should be less angry after this race actually.

It was a fairly dull race with little drama at the front throughout the race. After six or seven laps it was evident to see roughly where each car was going to finish. You knew that Seb probably wasn't going to be challenging for the win, you knew that Alonso and Kimi were going to end up on the podium somewhere, etc. It's not who finished where that made it a slightly boring race, but the lack of drama throughout the race. Long straight DRS passes which seem to be an necessary evil do not often make people jump off their seats, and there was nobody charging through the field at any time. Admittedly, this was Barcelona which has always had a reputation for **** races, so I'm not complaining about it, just passing my comment.
