With all the talk of Rush, there is another classic motorsports film due out this year, charting the history of the classic drag racing rivalry between Don 'The Snake' Prudomme and Tom 'Mongoose' McEwen.
Trailer here:
Sadly I doubt this will get a UK cinema release, or at least not a wide one, but I look forward to importing the Blu-Ray when it comes out.

The spring 2013 issue of the nostalgia drag racing magazine Elapsed Times featured a cover story on the movie. Supposedly it's going into limited US release on 6 September 2013.

My wife was the adagency supervisor of Army Recruiting's sponsorship of Prudhomme. It was the most cost-effective, on-target motorsports sponsorship imaginable. And Prudhomme was perfect to work with. I'd recently concluded my work for Indianapolis Raceway Park, which I initially undertook with no appreciation for drag racing. My appreciation grew as I experienced the loudest, quickest cars I'd ever seen. It was amazing to watch a crew change a set of 8 pistons in 20 minutes! Still, as a road racer it's a little hard to fully appreciate a race that's over in 4 seconds.
