"Racing driver gone bad" is, I think, the thrust of this thread...What is the relevance to this forum, anyone care to share?

Like this one, for example?is there a connection with the black modsports Turner which has been advertised for ages, and the price of which indicates that gold ingots have been utelised as balast? I seem to recall a link.

This thread will give you the flavour of the man, as seen on an otherwise excellent Forum!

He has sold some dubious cars and I wanted to bring his latest exploits to this forum as a warning to avoid him at all costs.

Apart from anything else, Fulke-Greville is clearly delusional, but it always puzzles me why fairly rational human beings commit crimes like this. Absolutely zero possibility of getting away with it long-term, they must surely know that an eventual custodial sentence is almost inevitable, so why do they do it?

Probably a politician manqué, he would well in the delusional world they appear to inhabit.

I dunno, I wouldn't want to test things like 'clearly delusional' though I'm not singling out that specific post.
But then, you are not ALLEDGEDLY a famous racing driver

Satisfactory editing Peter?

True, but given he has at least one criminal conviction for a crime of dishonesty, none of this would lower his reputation any further. Hence it wouldn't be held to be defamatory.
In Italy it would be considered defamation, under Article 595 of Penal Code.
Basically in our happy country you cannot call a thief even a convicted thief. You may say (calmly and serenely, as the word of law goes) that he's been jailed for theft, but that doesn't allow you to call him a thief...

So Paolo, we can proudly say we have had a PM puttaniere (whoremonger), but can't say he is a crook.
I do not consider "whoremonger" as an insult, more as a description of one's clever approach to life.

I remember the newspaper article re Skeaping from the mid-70s, when I'd be about 11-12. I was vaguely aware of him from my reading MN at that time, he did some 2-litre G6 around that time I recall. I had no idea what a 'Paedo' was back then, it was a completely new word to me. I recall the article said something about him using his racing exploits to befriend youngsters/

That just makes me sick. As a road race kid my entire childhood, I made lots of driver friends and the very idea of this makes me see red.I recall the article said something about him using his racing exploits to befriend youngsters/
Mostly on topic, my hero since 1968 waited until 2006 to strike us with a "can't lose" stock after we had a massive medical catastrophe. It turned out to be a complete scam that he profited from, so I know how deeply our hero passions can be. Anyone taking advantage of our sport's passion has no soul.
