Vettel was very lucky after making that huge mistake and slamming against the wall. It would have been very embarrasing to DNF after running in the front with that huge gap advantage.

Huge mistake? He brushed the wall while pushing for lap time, apparently gently enough so that he didn't even notice it from inside the cockpit.

Definitely not Vettel. Hitting the wall like that and then running off the track losing 4 seconds to Hamilton are big mistakes. Alonso and then Hamilton for me. Sutil screwed Hamilton big time though

Massa deserves a nod.

For finishing one lap behind his teammate? Yeah, he certainly does.

I can't imagine what you would have said if he hadn't touched the wall and gone off the track twice after starting from pole with the best car!

He was driving a Ferrari?!

Hitting the wall and mowing the lawn is ok as long as the car is so fast.

Alonso and Hamilton touched and could have damaged their race.

Alonso with DiResta and Jean very close. The Ferrari was poor with cold conditions in qualy, it was poor again with SS at the beginning of the race, despite that he overcome all this problems and manage to pass many drivers on track to reach P2. Maybe he didn't get the max of the car in quali, but sure he did it on the race, perfect drive.

Poll is shaping interestingly. :D Vettel is starting leading by a mile despite his mistakes and the fact he enjoyed a dominant car. Can't see why people can't appraise Fernando or the brilliant Lewis.

Yes, a 2011 race, starting from Pole, getting a couple seconds in the first laps and making huge mistakes with no consecuences when the race was already won.
People rating him over Alonso who start from 6th and havent a single mistake, fighting hard with cars and drivers every lap, to finish 2nd ...

Yes, this things happen when you have to fight with others drivers.

If Alonso or Hamilton could take 10 seconds advantage in the 6 first lap probably they dont touch with nobody.

So what you are saying is that Alonso and Hamilton need the best car to win.

Pity that Di Resta came from 17th to 7th so silently, otherwise someone might have considered that he drove very well...

Hmmm..i think this is a huge compliment to Seb,the standards he is set for I would say are twice the level of other drivers.
I mean,we are going to forget his mega lap in the wet, outqualifying a very good Hamilton in a quick Merc, nailing the start perfectly, pulling a 2 s gap within the 1st lap, managing his race briliantly from there and finishing 14s ahead of his nearest challenger?Didnt Alonso have a moment too?Didnt Hamilton clip the back of another car?
Anyway,Seb,Alonso and Diresta were awesome.

Would have voted for Vettel but he made that small driving error by going off at the first chicane later in the race. And this poll is for "driver of the day" and not "driver of the race weekend". Kissing off that Wall of Champions on Lap 11 was excusable as he was pushing really hard to create a gap on his 1st stint.

So, chose Alonso as Driver of the Day. He made 4 passes - a non-DRS pass on Bottas and 3 DRS-assisted passes on Rosberg, Webber and Hamilton. He was highly opportunistic on Rosberg, and his passes on Webber and Hamilton were pure class.

If he can improve on his saturday's qualifying form, it will be a great fight between Sebastian v Fernando for the rest of the season.

Yes we should forget about their respective forms in the Qualifying because the poll is about "Driver of the Day".

Jean-Eric Vergne Impressive in that mediocre car !

It's still probably the best Toro Rosso for a couple of years.

So suddenly as Vettel wins it has to be because his car is dominant...where was Webber? When Alonso or Hamilton wins, it's because of them not the car, right :drunk: Ferrari and Mercedes are as good as Red Bull, so credit goes where it should...to Vettel.

Surely a car that Vettel himself has called a "bus going for a cruise on a Sunday afternoon" cannot be said to be as fast as the Red Bull. The Ferrari yesterday showed how slow the Mercedes is.

Vettel without a question. He had a pit-stop in his bag by lap 20. Special mention to Vergne, Alonso and Hamilton.

A bit of a mention for di Resta also. I think he was lucky with his strategy. They just bolted on the mediums for the heck of it and waited to see how it would pan out. Big Kudos to Force India though, they had a very good car for this track.

Err this quote from Monaco wasn't in regards to the Mercedes being a slow car, it was in regards to the Mercedes travelling at a slow pace.
