The new engine formula isn't really relevant for Ferrari road cars, but it is for FIAT. It's surely time for them to use the team to help the Fiat division marketing and development-wise?
They used to carry a FIAT badge (in the 1980s, unless my memory fails me). When, and why, did that stop?

Nope. What happened the last time Ferrari raced in F1 with turbos? They produced one of the most brilliant turbo road cars of all time (F40). No reason to think it'll be any different this time around.
Group B had way more to do with the F40 than turbo F1 engines

Really? Please show me a FIAT road car that comes with a 1.6L Turbo V6 engine producing over 600 Horsepower.

Well probably not a FIAT but an Alfa Romeo? And the world would have come full circle ) (Enzo drove for Alfa Romeo in the 20s, then he started an Alfa Romeo dealership)

Ferrari could buy Marussia and rename it Alfa Romeo.

I think Mclaren would rebadge themselves as "Yugo" before Ferrari changes their Formula 1 team name to something else.
It would be Zastava ;P

You mean similar like "Infinity engine" in RBR?The new engine formula isn't really relevant for Ferrari road cars, but it is for FIAT. It's surely time for them to use the team to help the Fiat division marketing and development-wise?

It is absolutely relevant. The current Ferrari v8 will make way for a turbo 6 with kers in their next 'entry' level car. Iirc the range tippers will always have a big 12.

Imagine a Ferrari roadcar with a KERS-like device that gives you a few seconds of extra boost - I bet such a gadget would be an instant success.Bet that within 2 years of the new engine Forumal we will see a V6 Turbo Ferrari with KERS.
I like the idea, they even could even distribute the names according to performance: Ferrari - Sauber-Maserati - Marussia-Chrysler.It would be great if Fiat badged customer Ferrari engines as Alfa Romeo or Maserati, it would be nice to have those names in F1. We could have a Sauber Alfa Romeo which would be cool.

Fiat could choose to sponsor Ferrari though, but the team is and will be Ferrari. Actually, the Ferrari brand is worth more than the Fiat brand, and I doubt Fiat has the money or intention to replace Santander/Philip Morris.

If the engine formula is relevant in Formula 1 then it becomes very relevant for Ferrari. And considering there isn't much racing going on in the Fiat group these days I think Ferrari will continue to carry the flag.I just wanted to quote so this topic stays on top of the forum.

You're suggesting the team be rebadged as Dino?
The separate Dino brand was short lived, and most people know it simply as the Ferrari Dino - and one of the really great cars in Ferrari history. Which shows, IMO, that Ferrari and V6 are not impossible in the way the OP suggested.
