Well, We always discuss about who is the number one, what kind of team orders they need to obey and such. Now, on the links above we can read real F1 Drivers Contracts, the articles are from a Brasilian Journalist, and are in portuguese, but in them there are links to the archives of the California University where they are found. Take a look:
Senna's 1987 Lotus Contract: http://fabioseixas.b...-senna-em-1987/ and Piquet's 1988 Lotus Contract: http://fabioseixas.b...piquet-em-1988/

This contracts were found here on The Legacy Tobacco Documents Library: http://legacy.library.ucsf.edu/ and probably there are more Drivers contracts out there.

It is nothing new that Senna enjoyed number one status at Lotus, but nice to see the proof in case some groupie starts whining again about Prost's 1993 contract. Pot...kettle...black.

Nice twist to bring Prost in, and defend him before he was even mentioned, let alone attacked.

Talk about whining groupies... :drunk:

Exciting. Maybe we can make a list of drivers throughout the history, who indeed did have a clear #1 contract. Of course in some cases it is not known, hard to determine.

The point getting much attention here is the exposure of shell companies - I guess tha tcan turn this from nostalgia to white collar crime news in no time.

It's a pretty common thing, when you're making that kind of money, to take it as a corporate rather than personal income.

If you guys want to see some really impressive numbers, and much more detail, check just the ammendments to the Team KOOL Green CART contract. There's even things like payment schedules for a particular engineer one of the drivers wanted.

Or, Craig Pollock's thoughts on the founding of BAR. Relevant info is the story of how/why they bought Tyrrell, ownership and mangement structure, and an idea of budgets in the first few years.

Being common doesn't make it legal if you are not reporting to your country revenue service. Exposing the original shell companies can just have the whole thing unravelled.

I don't know the laws of Brazil, maybe in 1987 he'd have to report it, maybe not. Senna should be allowed to have his own company, and it wouldn't have to be registered in the country where he has residence.
