Wow, that was actually enough to retire Kurt?

No he had to cut the interview short because the team were calling him to the car.

Great win for VIckers.

OMG! Montoya came and got 2 tyres, took of like a rocket. REstarted 20th and was up to 14th, going for 13th, trying to pass his teammate in the #1 on the outside in the last corners, and got pushed up, almost lost it, got high into the grey stuff and finished 24th. GAH!

Interesting top 5:

1. Vickers
2. KyBu
3. Burton
4. Keselowski
5. Almirola

That turned out to be a pretty solid race, though lack of tire wear is still an issue.

Glad to see that Vickers won. Turned it off when they threw the debris caution with 5 laps to go. You know they were thinking "Oh crap, nobodys gonna wreck and we need to have a gwc to boost ratings".

And where the heck did Jeff Burton come from?

Stenhouse being a honorable boyfriend.

Anyone see Kyle's postrace interview when they asked him about Kurt and Newman's incident? Quality stuff right there. Even though Kenseth was really the cause of the accident, it didn't stop Kyle from calling Newman an ogre.

Do you mean the press conference? I didn't hear it during the trackside interview.

You look like a Dillon. With a white hat you would be a dead ringer for one. :D

Then here's what we do:

Buy white cowboy hat.
Go to next race.
Get pit access.
Feed Austin some Taco Bell.
Jump in the car while he's off dealing with that
Win race.
Hold press conference saying that I'm retiring and so should the Cup #3.
Drop mic and walk out of conference room.
Walk back into conference room and drop Kyle Busch.
Gesture to Jamie Little to *call me*.

The guys that did the NNS race on Saturday finished well in Cup: Vickers, Busch, Almirola...

500 laps plus free practice and qualy

Now that's silly.

They won't admit, but they might reach the Cup race too tired and that's the one that counts.

I am pretty sure it happened last year with Kyle and Brad. And it's much easier than the double Indy500-CHarlotte600 that some drivers did years ago, same track, you kill up time and get some added exposure for your ride... drivers in Nascar seem to like track time a lot. And let's face it, Kyle has run at the front in NNS and NSCS with no issues. Jr and Stewart have done both races in Daytona with no issues as well.

Back in the day even F1 drivers would turn some laps in support events, look up on google for Senna racing a mercedes on F1's return to the Nurburing.

Flogging a Merc road car in an exhibition race doesn't really count...

But they don't even do that anymore.

They should try to turn hot laps in that flatbed truck they use for driver introductions

Here's a few pics from our seats in turn 4. Hot day but enough clouds to provide a bit of relief. (Sorry if these are too big, haven't used the sharing site in a while).
