Chicago
Home of the Cubbies, Air Jordan, Oprah, and of course...
While there's been a clamoring of sorts over at Indyworld to see who starts the threads, we've had to poke and prod to get the NASCAR threads going.
So here it is, nice and early.
Only the one race this weekend.
And as luck would have it, it's a Nationwide one.
Wait! Come back!! It's better than last year. Promise.
While we all found better things to do in 2012...
...this years Nationwide has been on our side.
Chicago puts us past the halfway point of the season, and the Top 5 are only separated by 24 points, The Top 10 only 69. Compared to this point last year we were at 73 pts and 231 respectively.
It's a proper battle!
Now I know what you're all thinking. You're sick of seeing Kyle Busch and his Cup buddies decimating the sport
(and crowd attendance) by coming over and winning every damn week.
And rightly so!
But worry not trackside deep-dish pizza vendors.
After a gruelling schedule, this weekend is the only break for the Cup guys til The Chase begins, and they've all decided to stay in bed.
Well. Except Joey Logano.
But you know what?
There's enough excitement in the field, and Coulter will probably put him in the wall anyway.

The Drivers
Regan Smith. Still leading the championship.
By a hair.
In fact his points advantage over the last 5 races has gone from +58, to +28, to +8, to +6, to +5.
Austin Dillon sits in third behind Slammin' Sam Hornish. Has a real chance to win this weekend. Still...
Further back, rookie Kyle Larson has been effortlessly fast all year...
...while his teammate Nelson Piquet has had a shitty year.
I mean a really shitty year.
But at least he knows he has money, so there's always next year.
Your friend and mine Travis Pastrana has produced some solid results, had some rotten luck,
and has sometimes looked out of his element.
Luckily, his team seems very patient with him and he has a ton of fans.
Times
Saturday, July 20th
11:30 AM-2:00 PM NNS PRACTICE
2:30 PM-4:00 PM NNS FINAL PRACTICE

We also have some truck race on dirt coming up on Wed 7/24,
One of our esteemed members and a man who knows about such a thing will be popping his NASCAR OP cherry and will be covering that for us in an entirely separate thread.
Keep your schedules open for what should be a hugely more exciting race than this Chicago drivel I'm shoveling your way.
Ready for some racin'!?
Good. 'Cause I'm dizzy. This **** took me way longer than I had planned. Enjoy your week.
I'm out!!

Ferris never really existed. It was all in Frye's head as a coping mechanism with dealing with his dad. Kinda like Fight Club. What theory?

Pastrami is running a (read carefully) normal valvoline livery, Annet is also running the Petty STP livery, the 70 car is a chevy again, Hornish is leading and no Danica Mention so far.I'm trying really, really hard, but I can't seem to give a **** about this race.

I was waiting for this.
By the way, I would just like to quickly say how mildly but noticeably annoyed I am that the only two race threads I've made immediately got complaints because I had one picture about 4 pixels too wide, and yet a thread with (an admittedly hilarious) 4,000 .gifs taking nearly that many years to load every time you open the thread gets no bitching whatsoever. Weak!

These threads are getting a little over the top in my opinion.I was waiting for this.
