Doesn't matter because she is just using her rich husbands connections instead.

of the current bunch, i'd say the most impressive female driver out there who actually is 'GOOD' is Simona De Silvestro. she's doing a much better job at IRL than Danica ever did IMO. she's a solid driver and quiet aggressive without being a primadonna.

I have to disagree eronrules.

Danica Patrick does not have what it takes to be WDC, she does not have what it takes to be Indycar Champion. However she could when racing in Indycar on ovals be counted as a realistic threat for top 10 qualifying and top 10 finishes. She took Poles, she even took a win and could have won a few more. The Danica dislike seem to ignore her actual results, likely due to the overhype the media servers and served for anything dealing with Danica.

Silvestro have not shown as well as Danica yet.

2006 - Danica ended season 9th 9 points behind Dario in 8th.
2007 - Danica ended season 7th 22 points behind Helio in 6th.
2008 - Danica ended season 6th 68 points behind Briscoe in 5th.
2009 - Danica ended season 5th 40 points behind Helio in 4th.
2010 - Danica ended season 10th 21 points behind Weldon.
2011 - Danica ended season 10th 6 points behind Rahal.

That is a solid performance over a 6 year period, which no racer should be ashamed of. Obvious for me that we are not looking at a future champion, but neither are we looking at a driver just filling the field.

I believe there is a higher and unfair expectation when a minority enters the sport. We have Chilton in F1 and he's obviously there due to his dad's money. However if a girl was to come into the sport, even if she was half a second a lap quicker than Chilton, and she was funded by her father, many would still be claiming she was in the sport due to being a female.

Danica has done reasonable in Indy car, far better than many of her male counterparts. Yet she's supposedly only there because she's female. Then what reason are those guys who are slower than her in there for?

As for the g-force, of course a female could if she trained correctly, be able to handle the g-forces even over a race distance. It might take them more training and a longer time to achieve the level of fitness required, and it might take more maintenance training to keep at the high level, but no doubt women can achieve that.

If we're judging her purely on her race finishes and her race craft can you tell me why anyone would hire her over the half dozen+ IndyCar drivers that constantly finished ahead of her?

I've never seen anyone suggest that people like Dario Franchitti, Hélio Castroneves, Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay, etc.. should get an F1 drive.

The only reason she is mentioned is because she is female.

Nobody did, they hired her over drivers who consistently finished behind her...

She is not yet in the same league as Patrick; no wins, no pole positions, no 4th at Indy, in fact no top 5 places at all. Argue your case from the facts, not from your wishes.

I do not see Danica as a future WDC, and I think her strengths are oval racing and not the tricky roadracing courses. The thread is as far as I am concerned about female racers and I raise my personal opinion that Danica is better than Silvestro and as far as I am concerned the best female racer since Michele Mouton. I am not sure what in my comments here have led anyone to see your named drivers as potential F1 racers, but I would expect that both Dario and Helio were mooted as possible F1 racers back when they were in the various junior classes.

If we take her highest ranking season as her max, then it would be 2009 when she finished 5th in the Indycar Championship. Placing in front of:

Tony Kanaan
Graham Rahal
Marco Andretti
Justin Wilson
Dan Wheldon
Ryan Hunter-Reay
Mike Conway
Ernesto Viso
Will Power
Orial Servia

I have not gone through the full season, so some of those guys may have been running less than full season. But they are either winners in Indy Car, previous F1 drivers or still in the Indycar series in 2013. So my point is that Danica albeit not a championship winning potential in Indycar, she was good enough to be taken seriously.
