Didn't want to hijack the topic on Rod so here's a space for people to put their pictures and videos of this years event. Never been so closely packed in the paddock before and it was reported that over 20,000 spectators attended. Had everything going for it with the weather even if it did get just a tad too hot at times. Here's my start off with some onboard on my 250 from the so called Honda Parade (session 45) with all sorts of reps including some Ronald Agoston 500s plus a few other makes. The ride through the pits at the end shows how full the place was.

Your little weapon goes well, must be fun but clearly you have to keep an eye out for wobblers... :eek:

Yes it's flying at the moment. Lots of enthusiasts out there so I try to give them the space they need and even in the video like when I come up behind the Manx it's not always possible to read what someone will do but be ready to haul up a bit if needed. The travelling marshals do a pretty good job of marking out the slower riders so it's not too bad and after all it's a parade. We had some Oz weather for a change with over 30 degrees in the paddock both days so Wayne must have felt at home.

On a french forum , Hubert Rigal, who was supplying quite a few former GP bikes from his "Classic Motorcycles" squad for ( among others ) Christian Sarron and Wayne Gardner , claims that Sarron broke the lap record on his YZR 500 . With all due respect to Christian, that sounded a bit strange, that he would be quicker than the BSB guys of today.... but if there were no chicanes, that explains it !

Just shows how things can get distorted when all the facts are not taken into account ?

To prove I do like other proper race bikes other than 2-smokes ........................( look at those lovely Yamaha-ha's in the background ,who dumped that in front :rolleyes:

I understand Ago was supposed to be there on the Sunday, but couldn't make it following a serious mishap at Goodwood on Saturday ? According to Hubert Rigal ( again...) his bike's gearbox seized as he was cruising down the hill, and he was sent into a wall and suffered a broken wrist and a bump on the head ?

Does anyone know what the outright lap record for bikes was at Mallory before the first chicane was put in ? The car one was around 40 seconds at around 121mph I seem to remember reading somewhere.

I don't know why but 49.1 springs to mind, I think it may have been KH on the Len Manchester 750, possibly jointly with Mr Sheene I remember it was always about a second slower than Brands indy.

Sarron certainly was flying, visibly the quickest by far of the oldies, including digger.

Digger was going pretty quickly on the Moriwaki copy on Saturday morning. That was until it dropped its guts.

Steve Baker had the lap record at a 48.0 until the Bus Stop was installed in 1986 I believe.

It was on an MV3 (seized?) & yes (from a photo I saw) he was off amongst a group of others so it looks like it could have been the cruise back from the top
