I have Alan Mann's new book at home and I know it has a whole chapter on the P68 & P69 cars which basically says they were advanced but there was not enough time and development money to get them sorted out before Ford dropped any help. I can't remember if, among the race cars he and his son bought back to vintage race if that was one of them but I think it was simpler cars.
Anyway today I looked it up on the net and found one site that had this paragraph:
" A colleague said he had heard that something was afoot at Fair Oaks aerodrome, near Chobham in Surrey, which is not too far from Byfleet, where Alan Mann Racing were situated. Sure enough, in the back of a hangar he found the dismembered remains of the P68 coupes, and the open P69 car, and Len Bailey and Frank Gardner in charge, so I will let him continue the story."
Well, the story from there on wasn't what I hoped it would be as I remember another story in a Brit magazine that had the cars stacked on top of each other. Someone must have restored the P69 coupe because I have seen pictures of it vintage racing. If anyone has that story of who found it, and who got it going again, like to have a copy of the article. I don';t think the P68 open car has been restored at least if it has I haven't see pictures of it.
