Formula E or whatever the electric series is called, has a better chance of success in America than Formula 1. More races won't help, because it's like this -- If someone serves you heaps of food you don't like, eating more of it won't make it taste better.
F1 will never be a major sport in America. It can do okay as niche entertainment, but you could argue that with even two races it will reach the saturation point.

What about some kind of league system? F1 creates F1 American championship, European Championship, Asian championship, that are regional. The winners of each championship would then be promoted to F1 World championship. You would get 20 races in the USA, new teams would be created, fans would get races in the afternoon not in the middle of the night and so on.

We already have something like that. We have GP2, we had GP2 Asia and we have Indycar. There's certainly not going to be enough money out there for 3 regional F1 championships as well as the World Championship.

As well as many of the sponsors are already well established or based in the U.S. Might be willing to throw some more money at F1 if they can reach another 300 million people.
But saying that, when will Bernie and the F1 circus take a step back and figure out that is throwing this money at the U.S. might not pay off? I think even in the format they we see F1 in the U.S. now, F1 is more than making a big profit, so I guess until the public says "Go F- off Bernie" will we see the team going full bore at establishing itself in the country.
