Has anyone else noticed an odd "thing" on the very front of the BAR's nose? It almost looks like a reflector or something, and sometimes it looks like an opening. It's oval shaped.
It is confusing me, and I'm wondering why no one has noticed it.
Any Ideas?
If you go to the JV picture at this website, you can see it really clearly.

I´ve noticed it before...
I think it´s a little opening to cool the driver´s feet. Not a very "orthodox" way to do it, but that´s what I think it is.

The 99 or 2000 Mclaren had a small oval grille mesh insert right in the front of the nose cone.

8nebula, actually, it is the 2001 McLaren that has the BAR-type opening and it is as of the Brazilian GP!
I don't know if they will use it again, but they had it in Brazil and it was obvious. They didn't have it in Aus or Malaysia though.
But I am almost certain that they didn't have anything like it in 99 or 2000. In 99 it would be pretty obvious since the entire nose was painted orange (or fiery red as is the official name of that color ;) ) and in 2000, well I can't see anything of the sort there either!

Max: They had it in 2000. Read my URl thread above.

Are you sure Niall?
Your link sends me to a message board and I can't find anything McLaren-nose related.

No need. Thanks anyway.
I saw the pic.
Funny, I have a poster of the 2000 McLaren across the room and I see the opening now!
The fact that I never noticed it is VERY VERY annoying. I am not supposed to miss this stuff!
