I tried the search function but couldn't find anything.

 

Did Sid Watkins ever finish his memoirs? In an interview from 2012, Watkins talks about the memories, how he's working on them. He finished eight chapters at that time. And I saw an article from May 2012 saying 'Sid Watkins' memoirs on the way', but sadly Watkins died a few months later.

 

Were they ever published?

What I'm saying is that google has hundreds of entries with the name spelt "Syd". A search of those might bring up something that "Sid" doesn't

I know - but Watkins was working on a third book a year before his death. I was wondering if that was ever published or will be.

A friend who has a place in Florida became buddies with his British neighbor, a fun, friendly fellow. My friend is not a "car guy", but when his neighbor Sid suggested that he could get tickets to a F-1 race (Montreal if I remember), my friend and his wife went with Sid to the race. 

 

My friend and his wife were totally unprepared for the greetings that Sid received from drivers, mechanics and owners as they walked through the pits, and that's how my friend first became aware of his British buddy's impact on motorsport safety.
