Well guys, finally I'm letting the thing off the hook: this year's prestigious livery competition!

Our new, more contemporary template has kindly been provided by BWT - thank you very much!

The 2013 top two finishers were:

Jeeves' Orange livery
tentenths09f1bowliveryw.jpg

and Risil's shaggy Villeneuve

livreabase1.png

(not even mentioning the secret star of last year's catch that has gone down in popular forum culture by now)

The rules are as simple as always (I dropped the limit on the number of liveries you can submit):

  • You can use any colour scheme you like, as long as it doesn't "ape" an already existing livery

  • You can use any sponsor you like

  • Don't change the design of the template

Template:

2kuk.png

SUBMIT YOUR LIVERIES UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY 2014

I'm looking forward to your beauties (and beasts)!

Great stuff Jovanotti!

Hmmm... shared deadline for submission of Tax Return's too! I'm going to be working overtime one way or another!

Ace template from BWT too, will certainly make for some good stuff I reckon...

Great template,   but I'm afraid it's nearly impossible to paint it using MS Paint

Nice template. I'll definitely make something again although I don't have any specific idea yet.

It is possible, but it requires a lot of work.

I remember I was doing my liveries using MS Paint, pixel by pixel. Before I downloaded GIMP.

Maybe I'll send some liveries this year. I'm not especially gifted when it comes to graphics, but last year I got 2 or 3 votes so I'm encouraged to try once again.

Are you absolutely sure the template is to scale? There's something fishy about the proportions.

This is the outline of the Lotus E21, so it is to scale. I just changed the nose to make it a little longer to match the 2014 rules.

Thanks BWT for the excellent template.

Hmm, still don't quite believe it. Could salmon make a side by side comparison just to be sure?

For the love of cod, it should be re-plaiced.

Enough with the fish puns guys , this isn't the plaice. You're only codding yourself if you think it is.

A spot of Jif in your eyes should sort that out.

Opal Racing is bright no doubt, but I love the rear wing. The jif logo goes great with that lime green to my eyes.

It's all good. But as an old fart with an interest in motorcycle racing in the eighties, the colour scheme is strikingly close.

Enjoying what I've seen thus far... Sadly I'm unlikely to submit anything this year given my current workload and the lack of any software capable of editing this years template to reflect a reasonable effort. Gutted! (Unintentional fish pun)

I didn't mean the old template was rubbish... far from it. It was just a bit old and last year's one was a little bit rough on some edges.

BWT's retro liveries have been fantastic and this template he's created is just a little bit smarter and easier to use in Paint for philistines like me!

This is the 2014 challenger from STIGG Racing.

Title sponsor is Montano - a new Italian energy drink brand.

'Montano' is the Italian for mountain - hence the big Mountain being part of Montano's logo.

The car numbering design features a classic style inspired by the old design of rally numbers issued at events such as the Monte Carlo Rally. Here, we happen to have #11.

After the well timed breakdown in the McLaren/Honda partnership and the Japanese company finishing well ahead of schedule, Honda now powers STIGG Racing for 2014.

The 'FIA Action for Road Safety' logo can be seen on the front wing pillars.

Other sponsors include Aon, Autosport, Sprint and Toshiba.

*It has been said that STIGG Racing may have some sort of commercial partnership with Phillip Morris but that's probably just a rumor!

That's really nice Stigg. I tasted that energy drink and it left a strange after taste of cancer in my mouth. One change I would make is put the 'FIA Action for Road Safety' logo on a closet at the back of the paddock and lock Grosjean and Maldonado there during the races.

McLaren's Marlboro livery was pretty much a white car with bits of red[/that orangey red] http://www.f1fanatic...a_silv_1991.jpg

This is a red car with a snowy mountain logo!

Thanks Cool Beans! You obviously didn't read the back of the can!! : http://i.imgur.com/amVrv2b.jpg

And great suggestion for the paddock - I just hope neither Grosjean or Maldonado have picked #11

FB Masturbotor ®

Underwear, beer and playboy. What else does one need? (FB just handles the financial side of things)

First testing leaves room for furious speculation. "Brownish and unsymmetrical acceleration marks, might include illegal traction control. Gas leaks a trouble with exhausts and premature explosions nothing out of the ordinary.

Maybe it's just me then. The Marlboro colours , the Marlboro chevron with the mountain , and the font they use is the exact same Marlboro used with Ferrari in 2007...or  maybe I'm just going nuts. :rotfl:

Yehyeh, go kid somebody else; it's definetly Marlborro inspired. Not hard to see cause it's exactly the same RGB colour as in their logo.

I'd judge it's legal. Plus, STIGG Racing would need Phillip Morris type of money to even get it a big enough of a blip on Bernie's radar to compete.

Will work one out with MS Paint today some time. Will be akin to what a 5 year old would make, but I'll stab at it.
