Welcome to 2014 helmets edition threat, first season with mandated  drivers numbers on lids and car

 

lets start with this:

Saw that on FB and Twitter earlier and seems most (along with me) think the "8" should be where the "A" is, not the "o" ... Maybe it's a french thing :-P

 

NB: It's R8MAIN (#8) for those that hadn't sussed it ... for Romain Grosjean

I like Marciello's core concept, could do with a little less of those stupid spikes.

 

also, what does RBmain stand for?

and why is "aero magic" and "com'on!racing" written on his helmet? that stuff is something 5th graders would write on their pencil case to make it look "cool".

you have probably blocked some domains by your internet provider

 

mine is linkage from fbcdn.net and jackmancers from twimg.com

really? it stands for Romain, as his name? wouldn't have guessed it!

 

I meant that "8" is hardly interchangeable with "O", it is either a "B" or a snowman, but definitely no "O", hence it is far fetched (? not sure if this is the phrase I'm looking for) and unnatural. if he could and would've picked #0 as his number, I would've at least seen some sense in writing R0main on his helmet. but forcing a stupid replacement just for the sake of having his number replacing one of the letters of his name?

Yea, nobody will ever know what that is supposed to mean. It's not like that it's absolutely obvious after all. I remember that movie, Sesevenen - to this day, i have no idea what that one was about either.

 

"Com'on!racing" could be the designers of his helmet, who could also work for both Seb Loeb and Ogier. But we'll never know, because sadly, the internet doesn't seem to offer a way to find out the meaning of certain words and phrases printed on helmets. That's why we'll never know what 'aero magic' stands for either.

Com'on Racing is the design agency who designed the helmet.

At least make the 8 as a subscript so that the top "o" of the 8 lines up with the rest of the letters in his name!

 

Or don't make the 8 join completely so that it looks like a figure 8 racetrack!

 

That's just 2 minutes thinking time on that.

I hate the Ferrari-Schuberth partnership. I like the Bell and the Arai helmets a lot more. I would also love it if someone would wear a Stilo full face helmet. Those look badass

His 2008 and 2009 black+grey+red helmet were so nice, and of course his 2005 Mclaren helmet wore in Monaco GP.

Great timing Nick-o.I thought the reason the FIA chose driver numbers was because of NR and LH had too of close of designs. Plus Vettel changing patterns every week confused a lot of you.( not me)

I want to see the front of the '14 helmets. This, I though, was supposed to have the numbers VISALBE. What was the F__cking point if the #'s are now roman numerals and on the side.

Could be an indication that nico will run the black t cam to match his helmet, Lewis yellow with his helmet and we avoid any stupid comments about it being hard to tell them apart

I LOVE Nicos new helmet`. if there's no massive new changes , it would be the best on the grid for me. I love black helmets and the crome and light blue goes brilliant on it. Also , the roman numerals 6 which looks like an N is clever thinking and much better things like BO77AS and Ratemain.
