While looking for the chassis history of the 1996/97 Le Mans winner I found some discrepancies about the origin of the car. According to Leslie F Thurston's book about the TWR Jaguar cars it was originally XJR-14/691, but according to most other sources (e. g. racingsportscars.com http://www.racingspo...to/TWR-791.html or mulsannecorner.com http://www.mulsannes...guarXJR-14.html chassis 791 was converted.

So who is right?

I can't speak for the veracity of the information on this link, but it might help shed some light on the answer you are looking for.
