Thought it was a bit special just for the "seen on Ebay" thread.

Interesting.  How did the Maki F101 end up as a kit of parts in Stockport?

The TNF thread on Maki suggests that :-

F101    001: With original body work and stayed in Japan (rolling chassis)
002: Appeared in front of the press in London with the original body work, later converted into F101B and Ganley had the accident at Nurburgring. It was later destroyed because of the damage.
Two spare chassis originally without chassis numbers: One of them was given the chassis number plate taken from 002 (therefore became 002-B, if you like), probably the 1975 "Citizen" car.

As ever, what is the provenance of this 'project'?   Details on e-bay are sketchy to say the least, but apparently there is a genuine chassis plate.  Always a great help.

Evidently Howden had a very hard hit.

To confuse things further, as mentioned in the TNF Maki thread, Richard Parkin has a similar project (with a chassis that has apparently been repaired).

I've found the following:

There is a picture of two cars with the original bodywork in front of the team transporter in Japan and one of those cars is still there (= F101/0?).

Presumably the second one was shipped to England with the spare chassis etc. = F101/1?

F101/1 was crashed and possibly re-tubbed with one of the spare chassis (becomes F101/2?).

The beautifully restored Citizen car seems to be F101/2.

The car in Stockport seems to have the bodywork from F101/1 and I believe chassis plate F101/3.

So all 4 chassis are still around but which is which...
