If it's a 2 litre with an AC or Bristol engine it's an AC Ace.  But this car appears to have broad wheels which together with the "289" number plate suggest an AC Cobra (is that a V8 valve cover?)

My last shots are giving me grief, because I missed the windscreen stickers..................

 

The only AC I can find in the list is the one I've quoted, but closer inspection certainly shows a rocker cover awful close the side of the engine bay.
