lads, I have just put online a little compilation of old film clips from my collection. I am aiming to pitch a programme idea at BBC2 / BBC4 to include these films and more sometime next week. Fingers crossed. Thought you might like a little look at the film, I have much more.

Thanks indeed,  fingers crossed. I particularly like the 1937 footage, although B&W, the shots going into the 'farmyard' are just brilliant. Imagine driving a Mercedes or Auto Union through there.

Some really unusual stuff here  filmed by amateurs  - but very wealthy ones with top line equipment and film stock.

Captured scenes for places film companies would not think of going , really good material.

Marvellous stuff, the behind-the-scenes footage (public areas, paddocks etc) is really interesting to see.

Good luck. I don't suppose you have anything from the 1954 Dundrod TT?  Or anything that would tell me (the colour resolution of old film being notoriously unreliable) what shade of green Moss's own 250F REALLY was when it first appeared?

Marvellous footage.

hi Malcolm, I'm afraid the only TT movie film I have is of 1929! I don't think I have any green 250F's, either, sorry.

I have seen some 35mm footage of Stirling Moss's 250F and I think that the National Motor Museum has this - possibly from BP (?).  From memory of seeing this, the shade of green appeared to be not too dark.   Looked to be somewhere close to the Almond Green (I think that's ehat it was called) used on early Mini-Coopers.

speaking with RTH this morning & he tells me that he will be showing a DVD I have given him of an extended version of some of this footage at his next film show, it'll be the 1937 and 1955 film. Something to look forward to.
