This year Jan and Kevin Magnussen are doing parallel careers in Formula 1 and Tudor/WEC championships...The Mansells , the Brundles (in Sportscars), the Andrettis , the Unsers spring to my mind..

Were (are) there other two generations combinations of race drivers??? Hope this wasn't discussed already??

Best regards Michael

Too many to list in UK Club racing, as it is/was quite the normal thing.

Louis Rosier and his son Jean-Louis won Le Mans together in 1950.

I believe that Stuart Lewis-Evans and "Pop" Lewis-Evans raced against one another in 1950's Formula 3

Like Indycar, there are a lot of examples in NASCAR:  the Pettys, the Allisons, the Earnhardts, Buck and Buddy Baker, etc., just to name a few, had overlapping father/son careers.

I think Ted Hartley actually competed for several years after son Gene retired. A bit like Jim McElreath, but for less tragic reasons.

I'm pretty sure Aileen didn't compete post-war, probably as the result of family responsibilities. Pat started in the 1950s IIRC

In her autobiography (The story so far) Pat related that in her first ever rally, in March 1954, she competed against her mother, who was navigated by Ken Gregory's secretary. Pat was very pleased to beat her mum both in the overall event and in the driving tests which concluded it. It was obviously a fairly minor event, though.

Mothers/daughters (2)

Did Pat's co-driver Anne Wisdom ever compete against her mum, 'Bill' Wisdom, wife of driver and journalist Tommy Wisdom?

There have been both daughter/mother and son/mother driver and navigator pairings in rallying. Molly and Coral Taylor are currently competing together.

I can't think of any specific rallies where Bill and Ann Wisdom were both in action, but their careers did just about overlap.

On the circuits, Jacques Laffite occasionally comes out of retirement, and sometimes in the same events as daughter Margot.

Melanie Snow and her son Maddison drove in some ALMS events together in 2012, I think, in a Porsche. Further back, Lieve Thiron and her son Mathieu Geerinckx (and Mathieu's father, Dirk Geerinckx) all raced in Belcar in the early 2000s.
