A massive, visually obstructive and unattractive concrete barrier was constructed a while back which runs the full length of the main straight.
The reason for replacing the quite adequate ARMCO (IMHO) was to beef up safety for the trucks.
Next weekend they go round. I am concerned that the behemoths will not be kind to the racing surface (unmanned Flag Points may also be demolished!).
Am I being paranoid? Completely off-base re my concerns? Discuss!

As the Media Relations for the Hi-Tec Oils Super Truck Nationals here in Australia I can assure you that most tracks are never affected by our weights. We are regulated to minimum of Class B tracks here. Motorsport is dangerous and cars can even do more damage to structures than us. We are speed-limited to 160kph, whereas a V8 at 250-300kph would do probably more damage than us.
In regards to the armco upgrade, yes for added safety to allow the trucks to run at Wakefield Park. Something the track management did on their own to bring the trucks to Goulburn. But I see that as a good thing for safety....only takes one car to spear off and into the pit lane through the armco.
Flag points have had only 1 casualty (the structure NOT marshall)... that was Winton many years ago and precautions were immediately put into place to remove flaggies from all inner points during our races.
I hope that you went out to see us at Wakefield & or realised that there was no damage done.
If you have any other questions, im more than happy to answer.
Cheers
Brendan
