I am hoping someone may be able to help with the history of my car. I believe that it was built in Sydney in the early 1960's using MG TD or TF mechanicals. The engine was supercharged and the shockers and springs were replaced with coilovers. The chassis and body are tubular steel tubing, the body panels aluminium and bonnet and nose cone fibreglass.

The car was purchased in the mid 1960's by John Miedecke who relocated it to Hobart. it was run competitively in hillclimbs and sprints in the late 1960's. It then passed through a number of owners and ended up in a shed in the north west of Tasmania for the last 20 odd years. I am restoring the car and want to get a CAMS Certificate of Description so I can race it in Historic Events.

If anyone can identify the builder and expand on the history of it, I would very much appreciate that information. Copies of any photos of it competing or event programmes would also be welcome.

I don't think I have added the link to photos below correctly, but if you copy and paste into your browser, you should get a photo of the car.

Regards,

Peter

is John Miedecke the father of Andrew?  I think Andrew was from Tasmania originally (he was see http://www.miedecke....e-racing-legend).

Now runs Mercedes (and others) dealership in Port MacQuarie.  Try him.

No, Andrew and John are brothers and neither can help me except for the basic information I originally posted.

Both are keen to see the car back on the road.

Thanks for your interest.

Peter
