Firstly, I'm really terribly, awfully sorry about this, honest I am. These pics are from the Daily Mail, but for all that they're worth looking at. They've only published a few, anyone know if more are available elsewhere?

Drivers without helmets or seatbelts, whatever next? They'll actually be driving those cars at speed and racing them, given half a chance. Someone should have stopped this.

The clue's in the article, Rob! They're on the MPL website: 4894 of 'em ...

I have a book of Brunell's pictures, edited by Roy Bacon (better known for motorbike books), called The Golden Age of British Motoring. Includes some competition pictures - mainly trials.

Fascinating stuff. I don't think I've seen such a nice close-up of Kitty Brunell before.

Yes and there are many mistakes in the captions in that book and the Daily Wail keeps up some of that tradition.

Thanks for that, I knew they must be available somewhere, and I was sure that someone on TNF would point me in the right direction, just a little surprised that it took all of twenty minutes.

Splendid images but in photo 3 what could possibly have caused those schoolboys gathered around Raymond Mays' car to: wipe their eyes, look angry, ashamed and faintly resigned to their fate?
