I know this is a theoretical question but there are some records that seem to be unbrokenable at the moment.
Which one do you think will live with F-1 forever?

I think the records that won't be broken, need to be quantified a bit.

I think there is some chance of someone breaking Senna's Pole Position total, but I doubt that anyone will break it, in less races than Senna had.

Similarly, when Schumi breaks Prosts win total, he will have done it in such a significantly lesser amount of GP's, that I doubt anyone will break that, anytime soon.

But as to the record least likely to be broken, that appears in your poll, I would nominate Fangio's 4 WDC in a row. Hard to imagine anyone winning the WDC 5 years in a row.

Oooops, I just saw your nomination about oldest driver. Hard to imagine in this day and age of high G forces, that record being broken.

I would go on and say that 5 of the 10 points in the pole are not likly to be broken and that been:

Fangio's 4 titles in a row
Fangio's 5 titles
Senna's 65 poles
Prost's 698 points
Oldest ever winner:Luigi Fagioli : 53 years, 22 days

If Schumi drives next year, that record will be beaten easily.

i dont think that Sennas 65 poles will be broken as Schumacher only ha 35 poles and i cant see him getting another 30 poles
Prosts 698 points have been broken by Schumacher who now has accumulated 704 points (info from Planetf1.com)
I dont think anyone will break Fangio's 4 WDC titles in a row, although someone could win 5 titles in total, Schumacehr only has to win 2 more and he is capable of doing it.
Cant see a driver competing as old as 53 years, Jean Alesi is now the oldest driver at 37 and there is no way he will be in F1 for another 16 years

If Schumi wasn't around hardly any would be broken, but as it is I think the only two which will remain are the consecutive titles and the oldest winner. Teams go for youth these days, so unless a driver's career spans over 30 years, there's no way that will ever be beaten. If Ferrari stay the top team Schumi has the opportunity to beat just about everything else though.

Ummm Prost has 798 points, not 698. Still Schumacher has 704 and will probably break that record next year.

How about Mike Hawthorne. WDC in 1958 with only 3 wins ,4 poles and 136 pts in his career?
Or Phil Hill . WDC in 1961 . With only 3 wins, 6 poles, and 101 pts over 9 years in F1 .

The broken record of 'MS is God/MS is the Devil Incarnate'. Oops sorry, wrong type of broken record.

My vote goes to oldest winner. 35 is considered granddaddy these diaper-happy F1 days, let alone 53!

How about the Alesi records:

Most bad luck!

Ratio of number of race wins to race led.
Ratio of failures while leading.
Ratio of number of laps led to "last lap led".

etc. etc.

other of Sennas records:
Number of consecutive poles while your team mate is a WC with over more than one series of 2 consecutive poles to his record.
Number of poles while your team mate is a WC with over 20 poles to his record.
Number of wins while your team mate is a WC with over 30 wins to his record.

etc. etc.

Oldest winner for sure. There is no way a 50+ year old driver could deal with today's F1 cars...the g-forces, the speed, and the strength and stamina required preclude it.

It's almost impposible that any 50+ guy run in a GP these days and if someone does its even less probable that he wins

I think Rosberg's record of only 1 win in a season to be WDC won't be bettered anytime soon...

Also: Senna's 65 poles, Fangio's 4 titles in a row, Fagioli's win @ age 53...

fifi: Thats 798.5 points not 698.

Senna's record 65 poles will never be broken.

MS might equal Fangios 5 titles though.
