I have a personal preference for Brazil 1991, as I consider it to be Senna's best performance.  Monaco 1996 was pretty crazy, given all the lead changes and lack of cars that finished.

There is probably a obvious choice that is slipping my mind.

I didn't get into motor racing until '97-98, but in my memory there were a few classics like the 1999 Le Mans (not the closest finish but there was drama and an all time great entry list), '99 Nurburgring GP, certainly a number of excellent CART races and BTCC races... Definitely plenty of good choices

1996 Spanish Grand Prix.... For an absolute masterclass of rain driving.

Sennafan24 will be upset at this, ti's better than Ayrton's 1993.

I also have Spain 1996 as one of the best ever drives I have ever seen by any driver. I don't know if it was also the best race because a race suggests competition and in Spain 1996 MS made that there was left literally nothing that suggested this was a race in which victory was to be won for anyone but him.

Best race, I think that must be Indy 1990 for me. Being Dutchman and being at the speedway during the second weekend of qualifying and the race.....

Besides that, Arie's race was truly magnificent that day and much more deserved and a well earned victory than many gave him credit for.

European rallycross championship

A final at Norway the Lyngas motorbane.

Schanche vs Hansen, a borderline stock car race admittedly, but I loved every second of it.

And Hansen won on Schanche's home ground, making it even sweeter!

And pretty much any Superbike race at Hockenhem from that period!  All slipstreaming battles, brill!

I actually do not hold Donnington 1993 in that high a regard (I consider Portugal 1985 to be a better drive than Spain 1996 and Donnington 1993)

Spain 1996 is a decent choice though

I like Mexico'90 a lot now even though I watched it for the first time more than 20 years after it happened. Does 90 count as a 90's year?

Donnington 1993 maybe not what it seemed like because of all the tech involved (traction control, abs, active ride) but it was fantastic entertainment for me at the time, was a big Senna fan and after him having miraculously won the previous race in the rain, dominating this one by a lap was just orgasmic feeling, as we all knew how much better the Williams is. It was unbelievable how the start of the 1993 season unfolded, best times for a Senna fan.

Some others: Nurburgring 1999, Monaco 1996, Spain 1996, Spa 1995

Spa 1995 was a beautiful win for Schumacher given that he was 16th on the grid.

Monaco 97 in the wet was great too.

I saw an absolutely cracking Mini Miglia race at Castle Combe in 1990. Does that count? (you did say any series!)

I remember watching this live and it seemed unbelievably epic, watched it back & it confirms its more than rose-tinted glasses!

I also loved the 94 Japanese GP, brilliant race although again it was one of the first races I got up early to watch so it was exciting for that reason too.

Spa '98 ... the huge pileup at the start, Hakkinen going out early on, Schumacher lapping at a fantastic pace in the wet, the Schumacher/Coulthard incident with resulting 3 wheeled/angry Schumacher, then Jordan's first win and one - two with Hill's infamous radio message. It's not the greatest drive by any individual driver, but definitely one of the most memorable and it seemed to have anything and everything that could happen crammed into the space of two hours.

Good to see Cleveland 1995 mentioned. 2001 was also pretty good as was 99 for the rain. There were a lot of chaotic/silly/entertaining CART races. Portland 97 and Detroit 97 should be watched for their final lap alone.

The first CART race with the Handford wing, MIchigan 98 is great.

I Wonder What Was The Best Race Of The 90s (Any Series)?

The 1894 Paris-Rouen was a real thriller.

I'm probably a bit biased, but I loved every minute of the 1990 Mondello Park 24 Hours :smoking:
