A long time since I asked a silly question on here, so I might as well get back to old habits. This guy was fairly prominent in the latter days of 1 liter F3, and the early days of the 1600cc formula. But I don't know an awful lot about him. Any offers? I know he was the instigator of the Nemo F3 car, but why did he bother with that? It didn't race much, and not very well at that. Answers on a pinhead, I expect....

Hello Ian.
I think he raced in the works March team at the start of 1972 with Hunt, before the pair of them were replaced with Mass, Wood and then Jarier. From there I am not sure, but do remember him in Chevron sportscars with Trevor Twaites, whose F5000 ex-Hyams Lola he raced maybe once or twice.
Interesting career during an exceptionally interesting and varied time in British and European motor sport. He would - I suspect - interview very well...

One memory of Brendon McInerney was in F3 in (I think) 1971. Crystal Palace circuit was inside a Greater London Council park, and brown-suited park officals used to stand around on the infield at race meetings, watching with disapproval.
McInerney got broadside at North Tower corner, but at the last moment his tyres gripped again and projected him straight at the bushes on the infield, where he disappeared, to the visible disgruntlement of the council officals.
