Another summer has come and gone and today I attended Bill and Mary Jo Wiswedel's end of summer party.

I hope the forum members enjoy seeing the cars and food and people at this event that takes place in the Holland Michigan area at Bill Wiswedel's shop.

Pam Babbitt's 1959 Corvette and Bob Scolnik's 1964 Triumph TR 4

I drove Pam's Corvette to the event. It has been idle for many years and I was hoping the 55 year old tires would make the 20 mile trip. They did and it is now safely back in Pam Babbitt's collection. It ran great for not having been driven in many years.

A Mini tow Truck belonging to Mike Guffey of Hartford City, Indiana

Last year Mike Guffey brought his 1950 Kurtis Offy powered Indy car to the event.

When Mike Guffey was young he saw this Mini pickup at a towing business and always liked it. 50 years later he inquired was the car for sale and Mike Guffey bought it.

Creation of Nick Hardie an Iron Horse motorcycle

This started life as a Simplex frame and Nick Hardie put an Iron Horse engine in it and antiqued it. An Iron Horse engine is similar to a Maytag motor.

In the day not every one could afford a Miller and this is the route many took.

You take a Ford Chassis and put in a hopped up engine after you stripped it down. The owner is Cass Casmir of Hammond, Indiana and he is behind the car in the blue shirt.

The two guys admiring the car are Art and Eric Burmeister of Sterling, Michigan

Here is the story on the Prison car. It was built between 1932 and 1934 at the Prison in Jackson, Michigan and the project was headed by Lyle E May.

Thanks, Jerry.  What a great party it must have been, with some of my all-time favorite vehicles...Ford street rods, a Norton and a latter-day Ferrari.

Thankfully, not everyone! I have enough on hand researching the roughly five dozen genuine Millers, plus another five dozen Miller specials!

This car was built by Prison inmates in the 30's

Interestingly, I just recently came upon a Junk Formula Indycar that was (reputedly!) also built by prisoners!

Many thanks, Jerry, yet again for some nice pictures from what appears to be a wonderful event.

Customized 50's type Ford of Ray Clay

I don't think that this is a customized Ford. Rather, I suspect that it may be a Canadian Ford, which in the '50s had different names, grilles, taillights, etc., from US Fords. If so, then this could be a 1956 Ford Meteor, as the Canadian Fords were called. Very rare in the US, and the only reason that I recall them is because of an article in the old Motor LIfe magazine in the mid 1950s which featured Canadian versions of US cars. Plus I think that I may have seen one at a car show many years ago.

Various fruits and veggies at the party

RA Historian is right about one thing, that is a Canadian Ford Grill, it is however an American made model. He thought the Meteor Grill was neat and he installed it on  the car.

In the photo with Rick Dresang and Bill Wiswedel, Rick is holding up the cover of a Girlie Magazine that I was on in 1965. I was in my McLaren Mk 1. This car also appeared in and Elvis movie called Spinout

Love the Mini tow truck, but apart from the odd Crosley recovery just wondering how useful that might be Stateside
