Just for corroboration: Simon Taylor's obituary for Jo in Autosport concluded with the following:

'To his wife Annie, his inseparable companion everywhere he raced, we offer our deepest sympathies.'

Annie was his co-driver in early rallies and very much his “team manager” at the circuits, I believe.

 

His daughter – just twelve at the time of the Rouen disaster – died just three years later according to a French website I visited about a decade ago.  Dear God. :cry:

 

I once saw a video of the accident where two marshals came close to pulling Jo clear – his overalls were still white – but they were driven back by the flames.
