I wil again use this forum for a 750 Motor club talk as the Mallock U2 cars have been an important part of the UK club scene for so long and Richard Mallock has kindly agreed to talk to us about them.

To keep it simple I am posting the internal 750 invite below but everybody is welcome - no entry fee - just please buy a raffle ticket if you come along.

The core principle of the 750 club from day one has been " affordable motor racing ". No one racing car manufacturer has tried harder to follow this creed than the Mallock family and their U2 cars. Over the years their  front engined, rigid rear axle spaceframe cars have delivered tremendous track and hillclimb performance in 750  Club classes, in Clubmans racing and up into F3.

So it seems very appropriate for our next guest speaker on Wednesday October 1st at the Bull, London Colney to be Richard Mallock.

Richard is of course one of Arthur Mallock's two sons who followed him into the U2 building business and motor racing. Today Richard continues to build, maintain and refurbish the U2 line of cars.

His talk is entitiled " Explaining the development of the Mallock U2 up to the very latest Mk36DD." and nobody is better qualified to give it than Richard.

So please come along on Wednesday October 1st to the Bull at London Colney for 8pm to hear Richard's story of the U2.

I'd love to come, but it's too far from Texas.
I remember a visit to Arthur at the Old Rectory, in Hartley, near Brands Hatch, when he was building the very first U2 that still had some Austin Seven bits. There was a practice day at Brands, and my father towed the U2 there, with Arthur in it. It still had no body panelling.

He did indeed, though not for long. It was 1958, I think, when the family moved to Roade.
