NASCAR threads are getting a bit Grand Prix of Phoenix so I was thinking we have one thread for all Chase races and happenings.

 

They're racing at Loudon Wainwright III this afternoon. Next week, four drivers are eliminado. This week, someone wins a lobster.

 

Chase standings:

1. Ken Loach's Keselowski (qualified)
2. Jazzy Jeff Gordon

3. Joey Lolgano

4. Kevin Rikki Tikki Tarvick
5. Dale Junior Earnhardt
6. America's Diner Denny Hamlin

7. Gomer Pyle Busch
8. Jimmie Baines Johnson

9. Lt. Kurtz Busch
10. Matt Kenseth Rogen
11. Kasey Sugarkahne Harris

Hey Crafty...I know the OP's are usually rather daunting but this one's a walk in the park.

Everyone apart from Hamlin, Biffle, Kurt Busch and Almirola (the bottom 4 at the present moment).

Penske is dominating at the moment. I think i was not the only one who wished Harvick to win it.

 

BTW, i thought Bad Brad K was done after his crash. But he keeps coming back... impressive although i hate it

What happened to Jeff Gordon?

 

With a handful of scheduled laps remaining, he cut a right-front tire while running fifth.

 

I'm guessing that he ran over some debris. One way or another, that was some wicked bad luck.

Only Logano and Keselowski are in as of now. Everyone else still has to race in(or win) at Dover.

 

btw without the Chase, especially the new one, I wouldn't even be watching except for a handful of events.

With all the free passes and wave arounds associated with so many cautions, races like Sunday become a joke.

 

Good job by Logano holding serve on many restarts....about to go through pics from turn 3 stands (we were concerned heading up thru the rain and mist but lucked out).

 

In additional to the Penskes Harvick is fairly well placed being 35 points ahead of 12th if I read the standings correctly. Glad that Gordon's season wasn't completely torpedoed by the tire failure as he's still 7th and +15.

 

Right now Larson must really be fuming about missing the Chase with back to back seconds.

ok we eliminate now! and i won't be able to watch the race on TV.

 

Basically everybody of the last 8 in the chase standings is out if he has bad luck. Sadly the new chase rules require a little bit luck. If you crash out in 1 race you could be done.

you're right. But the last 8 are pretty close together the standings. So if one of them has bad luck*, he's out (because he'll be at one of the last 4 positions in the standings).

 

 

*Randomly blown up Goodyear or sth like that
