Anna-Maria Peduzzi is a female racing driver and is called one of the best female racing drivers in her days. She won her class in the 1934 Mille Maglia with her husband Franco Comotti - for the Scuderia Ferrari!

She just drove sports car races, but why was she never driving a Grand Prix/ F1 race?

Were there never talks about that? There were so many guest starters in these, even at Ferrari...

Try using Google, History Fan - the very first link when you do that brings up this - http://speedqueens.b...ia-peduzzi.html

In summary;

1) It didn't interest her

2) She preferred to race locally

3) Contracting polio left her at a disadvantage both pre-war and post-war.

She's a bit of an enigma, Anna Maria Peduzzi.

She seemed quite aware of her own strengths and limitations as a driver. She showed little to no interest in single-seaters, appeared to dislike international travel, and I think she liked to work with, and stay close to, her husband.

I've never even managed to find a date of death for her, and I'm intrigued to know what she did during the War. I suspect it might have been Resistance-related. If this was the case, it might explain her reluctance to travel and strike out alone. She also appeared to be very patriotic.
