First things first, scheivlak had got too few points for the last question last week, as I hadn't noticed that he had changed his guess after I entered it into my Excel sheet. Changing his guess also resulted in a slightly smaller penalty for wrong guesses, so everyone who had guessed 2 pit visits got one more point. So, yeah, I guess I should make it a habit to check the thread for edited posts, but since I probably will forget to do that, I'd prefer that you post a new entry rather than edit the old one if you want to change something.

Anyway, here's this weeks results:

First we have Felipe Massa:

  1. He completed 76 practice laps. (guess range: 53 to 87 laps, average 71.85)
  2. He finished 3rd in qualifying (guess range: 3rd to 5th, average 4.23)
  3. He set a time that was 0.3 seconds slower than pole (1:10.274 vs. 1:10.023) (guess range: 0.4 s to 1.2 s, average 0.74 s)
  4. He finished the race in 3rd place (guess range: one retirement, 12 finishes in 3rd to 5th position, average 4.08)
  5. His fastest lap in the race was 0.6 s slower than the fastest (guess range: 0.4 s to 1.1 s (and one guess that he would not complete a single lap), average 0.76 s)
  6. He entered the pit lane three times (guess range: 0 to 3, average 2.08)

Nothing dramatic here, except Barty, who discovered the other side of the thin line between genius and madness.

Here are the points deductions for this round as usual:

  1. 0.462 points/lap
  2. 7.037 points/position
  3. 25.76 points/second
  4. 9.943 points/position
  5. 27.95 points/second
  6. 6.717 points/visit

And here are the results:

In a high scoring round, Makarias scores highest of all! Joining him on the podium are M2000-5 and I.

Makarias 94 16 20 13 11 20 14
M2000-5 90 10 13 18 20 15 14

mark f1 86 15 20 8 11 18 14
kismet 80 16 13 8 11 18 14
2aron 76 18 13 8 11 12 14
scheivlak 73 19 6 13 1 20 14
Wlleiotl 71 19 6 8 11 7 20
Brawn BGP 001 66 13 6 10 11 12 14
Costaz 62 13 6 0 11 12 20
wattoroos 56 15 6 5 1 15 14
Barty 38 17 13 8 0 0 0

Then we have the second round of the week, which involves Pastor Maldonado.

  1. He completed 93 practice laps. (guess range: 45 to 87 laps, average 68.15)
  2. He finished 18th in qualifying (guess range: 12th to 16th, average 14.69)
  3. He set a time that was 1.9 seconds slower the fastest time in Q3 (1:12.233 vs. 1:10.347) (guess range: 1.6 s to 3.2 s, average 2.13 s)
  4. He finished the race in 12th place (guess range: one retirement, 12 finishes in 10th to 14th position, average 12.33)
  5. His fastest lap in the race was 1.3 s slower than the fastest (guess range: 1.5 s to 7.0 s, average 2.48 s)
  6. He entered the pit lane three times (guess range: 0 to 4, average 2.38)

I think this is the most practice laps any of our drivers have completed. With fairly broad guess ranges, Pastor still managed to finish outside the range three times..

Here are the points deductions for this round as usual:

  1. 0.418 points/lap
  2. 4.599 points/position
  3. 10.86 points/second
  4. 4.159 points/position
  5. 3.588 points/second
  6. 5.310 points/visit

And here are the results:

In another high scoring round, Makarias wins again! In second and third we have 2aron and mark f1.

Barty 73 6 7 10 16 14 20
Costaz 71 6 0 16 16 18 15
M2000-5 30 0 7 18 0 0 5

.

I guess wattoroos' lead wasn't that solid after all. All of a sudden we seem to have a four-way fight for the title.
