I am going to the Jerez test in February and I admit to being very excited about going to see the new cars in action for the first time. I was wondering if those who have ever been to this test can provide any tips on the best place to go to get some really good photographs? Also, being the F1 geek I am, I am hoping to get some of the drivers' autographs, any tips on where I should go?

Best place for photos I would say are the final corner, the chicane and turn 2, but the great thing about testing is you have the entire day and can easily wander round the entire circuit (get the VIP ticket - 20 euros and gives you access to most of the circuit).

For drivers autographs you probably need paddock access, there are companies that sell packages for about £250 per day for hospitality which is affordable I guess compared to what you would pay at a GP.

You can also see into the top end of the paddock from grandstand X as its right next to it and if your lucky I guess someone might wander out???

(Otherwise I think its down to stalking drivers in the hotels :p I found myself having breakfast with Sutil and Alonso in the hotel this year (didn't ask for their autographs though, just eavesdropped on Sutil telling the guy he was with (in English) how the car was terrible to drive. Fernando sat by himself, although he did chat to some Spanish guests).

The security staff at the bridge go home at 5, so you can just walk over it and get into the paddock. The drivers don't tend to hang about much.

My photos from earlier this year are linked to in my signature :)

Have fun!

Went last year, the proximity to the track is awesome. I'm garbage at photos but just look how close to the track you can get. You can expect very much the same experience!

If you're inquisitive on travel, I flew to Seville, took a train to Jerez airport and then a taxi to the circuit :-)
