Simply great racing again from both classes. 250 has been breathtaking East and West, the talent these boys have is amazing and the way they deal with pressure.  Martin deserved that.

As for Reedy, you just can't write off the fella, the start made it for him, but he kept the gap fairly good until right near the end. Fair play to Dungey too, he is starting to remind me of the greats here with amazing reliability, quick everywhere, plays the percentages. Proper respect for that.

Stupidity from Tomac, the guy is clearly as fast as anyone, and Roczen what do you say, these guys are handing it to the Diesel. Only Canard seems capable of staying close. Right on Peick too, if you know the pain he was in, man!!

Only bad point is starts winning races, seems a trend right now, bit of a shame but totally understandable!

The only thing that will stop Tomac winning a title is Tomac.

Roczen is a lucky guy.

Not sure Roczen is that lucky, ihe still binned it twice!

Wonder if leaving Aldon Baker is a reason!

I meant he was lucky after that practice get off, could have been much much worse.   I dont think Baker is all that.... saying that a guy is the reason , when he always has the best guys is a bit wierd.. he had RC, who was already the best, then RV who was already the replacement , then KR came on board , now Dungey....is Dungey doing anything he hasnt done for ever... which is being there all the time , and picking up wins when others let them slip... the fact he couldnt run Reed down says everything .  Guys who pay Baker what they pay him arent going to say it isnt worth it... maybe Kenny decided that not having RV there everyday made it not worth the effort.

The deal is that Dungey, Ciancurilo and Anderson are with Baker I think, and he is also still helping RV.

Carmichael has his own place and setup, so it maks sense for Roczen to go there, dont know if there is fallout, seen mentions of fathers as usual in this situaiton.

I do not doubt the impact of Baker, what he has done with every guy he has worked with is made them consistent winners. Would Dungey be doing this well if RV was still there? I doubt it is Villopoto just had more speed it seemed, but it's hard to know. Yes he didnt pass Reed, but he pulled him in towarrds the end, but it's not as if Reed is slow now is it?

Baker seems worth his money, and you cant argue with his results, it doesnt work for everyone, notably Stewart, but his record is pretty good.

I rate Anderseon, I really think he was superb last year.

But Seeley has quietly gon about his business ina  very good way, though I do think that honda is a damn good bike this year.

I agree the 250's have been highly entertaining. I really didn't think Chad would hold off Trey for the whole race, great for him. I'm afraid that Tomac and maybe Roczen may turn into James. Fantastically fast if they are on 2 wheels but crash and burn otherwise.

The Factory Honda might be, but here in the UK nobody is buying them cos the air forks are junk.. Those that are , are swapping forks off older bikes

I think a lot of guys are not using air forks.

Reed certainly isnt, not sure about Canard adn the Honda guys.

Agreed spaz, compared to most bike series, they seem to have a healthy attitude to youtube, let's hope ot continues.

Recap, after reading the latest issue of MotoX here in the UK all the factory tteams apart from KTM are using a type of air fork.

Wrird tech, the one leg has the regular damer, the other leg has the air instead of a spring, and you can change the pressure using a pump, and theya re lighter, and easier to maintain.

I woudl expect the moaning is because people are not use to the feel, and are not getting the same feel. However these Supercross guys are using worls backed stuff with individual setting by factory technicians!  So I guess its always going to help.

Easy to have a healthy attitude to Youtube when you're getting good viewing figures!

I dont have a problem with it really.

There are very few series as big as AMA supercross that would allow that much coverage, that quickly onto youtube without having people taking it down

I doubt it is going to last, but I think it has a lot to do with Monster, they are putting so much money in the series and its all free advertising

RV pretty far off the pace so far, over 2 seconds on the fastest lap and 33 seconds over 12 laps. Struggling with the sand? He's not a bad sand rider from what I recall but not exceptional either. Anyone able to watch and provide a little insight?

Also why is Herlings still racing a 250? He should be ruling the world by now.

Okay I answered my own question. MXGP has some really incredible free(!) coverage through their web site. Big ups to them. http://www.mxgp.com/...xgp-studio-show

That track looks disgusting, not much here to prepare you for that.

MXGP is going to be shown in the U.S. on CBS sports channel. It will air in about 4 hours from now.

I can watch MXGP but not Supercross on TV? Way to go, Fox.

MXGP has put the full qualifiers up on their YouTube channel, I guess we'll see if the mains will be posted as well.

the MXGP guys are pretty ruthless with people posting stuff up on youtube, managed to watch the first Qatar race, but second was already deleted.

Atlanta was OK, enjoyed PEick getting stuc in and about time Tomac sorted out the errors.

After watching MXGP for the first time (saw race #2), I found the track in Qatar to be boring.  I like some technical stuff and some hard braking zones. It seemed all open and sweeping. Hopefully the natural terrain tracks will be more interesting.

I'm really digging the 250's in Supercross this year.

Really?

That track was damned tricky if you ask me. Lots of ruts, some really technical areas that left you in a quandry about how to jump them, lots of lines available.

250 in Atlanta was dull as dishwater, Musquin made it that way , further back was OK

I don't think outdoors are really for you if you want stop and go tracks, that's a supercross thing.

Well, with Roczen's injury it looks like Dungey will be the champ.

Dungey was going to be the champ long before Roczens injury to be honest

WHat is impressive is RV winning a round in Thailand, that series seems to have a bit of unpredictability.

Which will hopefully turn Yank viewers on to it I hope

Just got to watch my recording of Detroit. What a brutal crash. Looks like both Weimer and Canard have broken arms and will be out for the rest of the season. Glad to see that Tomac put together a good race for the main.

For all the flak Dungey gets for not being as aggressive as most of his main competitors, this season is another demonstration that you can't win races or championships from the hospital bed. Yeah, Canard's brutal Detroit crash wasn't on him, but he's missed significant time throughout his career because of past injuries. RD has shown he's fast when he wants to be, and he's the only rider who's shown he can ride fast enough to win while staying upright, except when RV was in the series.

Wow, thread's been dormant for more than a month, and just the Las Vegas finale left this season ...

Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm really, really, really looking forward to the 250 East-West Shootout -- hope Musquin vs. Webb turns out as epic as it promises to be. Each just dominating their regions, clearly the best 250 riders in the country and hopefully ready to make their marks in 450s. Will be interesting to see how Musquin fares compared to Dungey next year.

Speaking of whom, Dungey really looks like he's ridden more aggressively, at least in the second half of the year. I wonder if with RV and Stewart not competing this season, he just said to himself that this is his time to show what he's got. Also wonder if the much-talked-about new bike allows Dungey to ride in ways he maybe didn't feel comfortable riding before.

And, speaking of new bikes, I find it interesting that the TV guys, as good as they can be, talk almost weekly about Jason Anderson struggling since his second place in the opening round -- and I don't think they've once mentioned that he's riding for a factory that hasn't been in motocross/supercross in many years, and the bike undoubtedly needs a ton of development. I really don't get why they're ignoring Husky returning to the sport, which to me is one of the big stories of the season.

So is it a done deal that Marvin will be Dungey's teammate next year?  I think Tomac needs to take some some starting lessons from Shorty over the off season (gearing difference aside).
